The series of lectures on distance literature and youth literature is a systematic training course aimed at comprehensively improving the comprehensive ability of young people's Chinese.

The lecture was held in Huabei Oilfield of China Petroleum on 1999, and more than 50,000 trainees have been trained so far. The lecture is divided into four courses: the first course mainly focuses on China ancient literature, the second course mainly focuses on China modern and contemporary foreign literature, the third course focuses on grammar and rhetoric knowledge and guides literary writing, and the fourth course focuses on classical Chinese reading comprehension (including China ancient cultural knowledge) and modern Chinese reading comprehension. The lecture is suitable for young people from 1 1 to 15, and the course of study is three years.

In the long-term teaching practice, Mr. Kou, the editor-in-chief of Distant Literature Textbook, constantly summed up the problems existing in Chinese teaching in schools, and put forward the concept that "Chinese training courses must serve and be higher than examinations", and designed the curriculum structure and carefully compiled the teaching materials according to this concept. It effectively makes up for some shortcomings in Chinese teaching in schools, such as the scattered knowledge in dozens of textbooks from primary school to high school, the diluted knowledge of grammar and rhetoric, the over-emphasis on classical Chinese knowledge in the classroom and the neglect of the transfer ability of classical Chinese in the classroom, the ideological politicization of textbooks and the lack of humanistic feelings, which lead to students' dislike of reading Chinese textbooks and Chinese subjects.

The lecture course of distant youth literature series has formed six special topics, focusing on time and energy to make breakthroughs respectively, which can help students form excellent comprehensive Chinese processing ability to meet the needs of Chinese examination and work life, and is a very intentional supplement to Chinese teaching in schools.

The textbooks and workbooks of the distance literature course are published by Xi Jiaotong University Press.

At the same time, with the help of Chinese as the carrier, Distant Literature has arranged the teaching of "Ten Minutes of Etiquette", "Ten Minutes of Analects of Confucius", "Ten Minutes of Character" and "Ten Minutes of Ideal" in different levels of courses to guide young people to cultivate their own self-cultivation and know how to respect, be optimistic, persevere and pursue ideals, so as to enhance their personal charm and comprehensive competitiveness.
