Li Yifu was born in Raoyang, Yingzhou (now Raoyang County, Hebei Province). During the reign of Emperor Taizong, Ma Zhou and others recommended him as the censor and served as the assistant of Li Zhi, the king of Jin. After the King of Jin became the Crown Prince, he was awarded the Prince Scheeren and a bachelor's degree in Chongxian Hall. In 650, Li Zhi and Tang Gaozong succeeded to the throne and were promoted to Scheeren. Because he strongly supported Tang Gaozong to establish Wu Zetian as the queen, he was promoted to assistant minister of Zhongshu, and was named Guangping County Duke. On the surface, Li Yifu always looks gentle and submissive. When talking with people, he always smiles and looks "amiable", but in his bones, he is insidious, selfish and jealous. In case of a slight dissatisfaction, or a person who is good for the court but not good for himself, he will rack his brains and use all means to frame Luo Zhi. Therefore, both the ruling and the opposition know that he is sinister and terrible, saying that he hides the knife in the smile. Because he is characterized by "being soft and tough, harming people and things", he is also called "Li Mao". In 656, a woman named Chunyu was detained in Dali Temple in Luozhou (now Luoyang, Henan) because of her guilt. Li Yifu heard that this woman is feminine, so she asked Cheng Dali to uphold justice and avenge her, and let her out as a concubine. When Duan Baoxuan of Dali Qing heard about it, he was suspicious and told the emperor about it. The emperor ordered Liu He to be tried and asked if the situation was true. Li Yifu was nervous, afraid that things would get out, and forced Bi Zhengyi to commit suicide by hanging himself. In order to clarify the facts, the imperial minister Wang impeached Li Yifu and presented the charges of Li Yifu to the court. However, in order to protect Li Yifu, Tang Gaozong said that the king slandered and insulted the minister in the court, and his words were rude, so he was demoted to Laizhou as a steward, without asking Li Yifu about the crime of adultery and murder. When Li Yifu became rich, he wanted to squeeze himself into a noble family. It is said that his ancestral home is Li Zhaojun and he is closely related to Zhu. Some children of the surname Li, seeing their great power, are also attached to sexual intercourse, and many people call them brothers and uncles. Li Chongde belonged to the same family tree as him. After Li Yifu was demoted as a secretariat, Li Chongde revealed the truth and removed a branch of Li Yifu from the Li family tree in Zhao County. After Li Yifu was reinstated as prime minister, he hated Li Chongde, called Luo Zhi, imprisoned Li Chongde and forced him to commit suicide. Li Yifu relied on the influence of Wuhou, taking bribes and perverting the law. Officials inside and outside the imperial court were afraid of him and were afraid to ask. Tang Gaozong warned him calmly: "I heard that your son and son-in-law behaved badly and did many bad things. I covered them up for you many times. You should warn them not to go on like this. " Li Yifu did not reflect, but became angry, blushed and rudely asked the emperor, "Who told your majesty these things?" You can also see how rampant Li Yifu is.
