The Historical Evolution of Wufenglin Family

Ethnic origin: Wufenglin family, from Puping Village, Wuzhai Township, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. According to county records, its ancestor Lin moved here from Shentu Road in Zhangpu during the first year of Yuanhe. Lin Xia family in Zhangpu Road belongs to Youyang Lin family, and its ancestor Chang Lin is Jin 16. The Lins opened their ancestral forest and gave birth to seven sons. The Lin family is divided into seven sects: Dazhaiheng (bitter bamboo), Guizhaier (dirt road), Xianzhaisan (seven capitals), Xianzhaisi (Yanping and Wuzhai Puping, Anhou Longtou), Wuzhaihua (pomegranate climbing dragon in Zhangpu), Liuzhaiqi (Yanping and Wuzhai back alley) and Qizhaiyuan (fen). There are more than 90,000 people in Zhangpu County, including Xiangcheng 1800 people, Longhai 43 18 people, Yunxiao County 2375 people, Zhaoan County 140 people, Dongshan County 9857 people, Pinghe County 3581people. Many people emigrated to Taiwan Province from different places, forming a blood relative settlement of Lin in Taiwan Province Province: Wufeng (four rooms under the road), Lin Jianhao in Banqiao, Taipei (five rooms under the road) and Tainan (seven rooms under the road).

Wufeng Lin's ancestral home is Puping Village, Wuzhai Township, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou. 1746, they crossed the ocean and settled in Taiwan Province province. In the1890s, the camphor trade rose, and the Wufeng Lin family gained a lot from mastering the export of Taiwan Province camphor.

In the 1900' s, Lin Zikeng of the Lins was a representative figure of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. At that time, most of Lin's assets were forcibly taken over by Japan. 19 15, Lin Zikeng joined the China Revolutionary Party founded by Sun Yat-sen, and was promoted to Grand Marshal in 192 1. 1925 was killed by warlords. He is the last military and political figure of the Lins. Since 1893, the Lins have actually become a literary family. After Lin Chaodong's camphor career reached its peak, his cousin Lin inherited the whole family. Lin and his father like literature, drama and art very much, so they began to decorate Lin's buildings. The "Lai Garden" they built is the representative of the landscape architecture in Taiwan Province Province today.

In fact, since 1893, the Lins have actually become a literary family. After Lin Chaodong's camphor career reached its peak, his cousin Lin presided over the whole family. Both Lin and his father like literature, drama and art very much, and co-founded Taichung No.1 Middle School with the gentry and began to decorate the buildings of the Lin family. The "Lai Garden" they built is the representative of the landscape architecture in Taiwan Province Province today.

Lin Henian, the nephew of Lin, served as the county magistrate of Taichung County for three times.
