Chongqing Aerospace Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college sponsored by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and headed by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. The school, formerly known as Southwest Aerospace Workers College, was founded in April 1983. With the approval of the Ministry of Education in July, 1999 was transformed into Chongqing Electronic Vocational and Technical College; In March 2008, it was renamed Chongqing Aerospace Vocational and Technical College.

1March 1989, with the approval of the former Ministry of Aerospace Industry, it was renamed "Southwest Aerospace Staff University".
1On July 26th, 1999, the Ministry of Education agreed to establish Chongqing Electronic Vocational and Technical College on the basis of Southwest Aerospace Staff University and Chongqing Electronic Industry School, which will be led and managed by the education administrative department of Chongqing Municipal Government.
On March 2, 2008, Chongqing Municipal People's Government approved the renaming of Chongqing Electronic Vocational and Technical College as "Chongqing Aerospace Vocational and Technical College"; On April 1 1, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of Chongqing Electronic Vocational and Technical College as "Chongqing Aerospace Vocational and Technical College".
