Mainly responsible for the infrastructure construction, management, operation and maintenance of the scientific database of China Academy of Sciences; Responsible for the long-term digital preservation and management of important data assets of Chinese Academy of Sciences, providing comprehensive data services for the whole hospital and even the whole country, especially providing data application services for e-Science; Provide statistical analysis, supervision and evaluation support for the construction, application and service of hospital scientific database, and become the window of hospital scientific database publicity; Organize the formulation, promotion and implementation of relevant norms and standards of scientific data, carry out scientific data management, * * * sharing and * * * technology application research, provide IT technical support, services and training, and organize international and domestic exchanges and cooperation; Follow the international development trend and carry out research on the development strategy of hospital scientific database.

The core business of Collaborative Work Environment Research Center includes: the construction and service of collaborative work environment; Consulting and support services for electronic science applications.

During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the main goal of Collaborative Work Environment Research Center is to research and build e-Science virtual laboratory, and explore the corresponding service mode. In the long run, the Collaborative Work Environment Research Center will gradually build a mature, stable and sustainable virtual laboratory operation service model and system, and further develop a wider range and higher quality collaborative work environment on the basis of virtual laboratory related software to form commercial-grade products and services.

The main responsibilities of the network popular science education center are: implementing the information deployment in the 11th Five-Year Plan, adhering to the principle of "overall planning, integrated promotion, giving full play to advantages and serving the public", relying on the information infrastructure of the network center, promoting the knowledge innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, serving the dissemination and education of science, and doing well in the construction of two projects of popular science (virtual museum construction) and national digital science and technology museum (standards and experience museum) under the network environment. The main duties of e-Science Call Service Center are: to integrate the related support service functions and resources of existing supercomputing center, scientific data center and collaborative work environment research center, to establish a unified call service platform, and to provide information and technical support services related to supporting e-Science applications for users in the whole hospital.

The main duties of the periodical editorial department are: publishing and distributing an auxiliary periodical for the whole hospital: Information Work Trends of China Academy of Sciences; Publish a technical support periodical for the whole hospital: e-Science Technology and Application.
