Introduction of Xiyuan Temple Scenic Spot in Nanping;
Xiyuan Wonderland is located at the southern foot of Mangdang Mountain in the suburb of Yanping District along the stream of Xixi in the upper reaches of Minjiang River. There is a valley more than ten miles long called Xiyuan Canyon. Here, the mountains are stacked, surrounded by mountains and streams, waterfalls descend, streams gurgle, dangerous rocks stand upright, trees are shaded, old vines climb, birds and insects sing, and even the secluded fields are quiet, which is a scenic spot and is known as the first in the mountains. Xiyuan Canyon has eighteen scenes, thirty-six caves and seventy-two songs, with humid climate and harmonious ecology. There are more than 1500 kinds of plants and dozens of precious animals here, so it has been a summer resort and sightseeing place since Ming and Qing Dynasties, and now it is a provincial-level scenic spot. Xiyuan Canyon is attractive not only because of its natural scenery, but also because of its cultural connotation. Xiao Gong, one of the five saints respected by Fujian folk beliefs, made a positive result here and showed a miracle.
Zhongyan Waterfall, one of the eight scenic spots in Guyanping, is located at the source of Xiyuan Canyon. The waterfall falls about 900 meters up and down, which is divided into 9 levels, of which 6 levels have a drop of more than 30 meters, with the highest drop of 156 meters, and the waterfall flow exceeds 40 meters in rainy season. Zhongyan Waterfall originated from the virgin forest of Mangdang Mountain, and flew down from the Xiyuan Grand Canyon with two towering peaks at an altitude of 1.300 meters. Therefore, in the Ming Dynasty, Liu Zhang wrote a poem, praising: flying 10,000 feet, breaking the smoke of the green hills, looking hazy, Changhong drinking Yuchuan. There are many waterfalls 10, forming a rare waterfall scenic spot in China.
