Zhangjiahu National Wetland Park is located in Jiuzhen Town, Tianmen City, Hubei Province, only 2.5 kilometers away from Jiuzhen Town, about 10 kilometers away from Tianmen Jingling City and 90 kilometers away from the provincial capital Wuhan, with a total area of 1084.54 hectares.
Zhangjiahu National Wetland Park is a typical shallow lake with a water area of 6.53 square kilometers and an average water depth of 1.8 meters. Its wetland type belongs to inland freshwater lake, which is the largest lake in Tianmen City and one of the best lakes in Hubei Province to maintain its original ecology. Zhangjia Lake was originally a part of Gufeng Lake. During the reign of Xuan Tong in the Qing Dynasty, the Zhangjia Great Lakes region was still a piece of Wang Yang, extending to Tianmen City. By the 1920s, with the lake area shrinking, Zhangjia Lake was formed in the west and Shi Jia Lake was formed in the east.
