Mining information value in geological data

For users of geological data, using geological data is to explore the information value in geological data for our use.

Geological data is a record of geological exploration and development engineering data and geological research information. Geological data obtained by geologists in field exploration, data obtained by indoor experiments and previous research results all require users to read the above data first, and then analyze and compare the obtained data, so as to process the original data, discard the false and retain the true, remove the rough and extract the essence, induce and classify them systematically, and then conduct comprehensive reasoning to establish a rational understanding. Basic theory researchers can increase their accumulation or find something from it. In the field of geological prospecting, geologists can find structures and traps, determine the possibility of producing deposits, study the scale of reserves, and serve resource exploration and mineral development. For geological disaster prevention experts, through the study of geological data in relevant areas, we can judge the stratigraphic foundation, find out the fault situation, predict the occurrence of disasters and provide disaster early warning.

How can we give full play to the valuable information hidden in known geological data?

First of all, we should have relevant professional knowledge. Understand the geological work procedures, and understand the information and data corresponding to the exploration and development related processes. Understand conventional geological data and related technical terms. For example, those who study geophysics can understand the time profile, those who study geology can understand the geological map, and those who study logging can understand the meaning of various logging curves.

Secondly, learn to use related software. Such as related data interpretation and processing software, know how to process and explain the process of obtaining results, and find defects or bright spots from them. If you want to see the geological map in the graphic library, you should learn to use the graphic library system software, such as MapGIS software.

Third, learn to use relevant tools. If you want to open the magnetic tape of geophysical data, you should be able to operate the magnetic tape reader of seismic data.

Geological data has a certain value since it came into being. After reading geological data, different readers have different effects and thinking tendencies because of their different knowledge accumulation and deep foundation.

Whether technicians can collect and discover the required geological data is also an ability. If you don't even know how to collect relevant information, where can you find the information you need, and where can you talk about the use of geological data?

Whether you can confirm the usefulness after seeing specific materials is a level, which reflects the reading level and understanding level.

It is an opportunity to confirm whether it can be used after it is useful and what kind of effect it will have after it is used. Opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared. If you don't pay attention to it, it will slip away. Opportunity lies in people's grasp.

The same geological data, used by different people, will produce different effects, sometimes unexpected effects for users, and even completely contrary to the original intention. There are many factors that cause different utilization effects, besides the value effect of the data itself, it is also related to the diversity of users' levels and qualities, and it is difficult to clearly understand and grasp the hidden information in the data.

The jade carver has a pair of discerning eyes. When he sees jade materials, he can see their true colors and hidden essence at a glance, and then with a little carving of the essence, he will produce excellent works that others can't think of. Senior technicians are generally experts in using geological data, and they can find the defects in the data and the value points of their use in reading. However, it is unforgivable for readers to regard the true reflection as a flaw, or to dismiss the truth as a flaw. "If it is true, it is also true", false information is regarded as true, and the true information cannot be found, which leads to the fact that the true information is not accepted. The decision made on this "premise" of misreading information and the corresponding exploration and development behavior can be imagined.

In the geological and mineral industry, "Jianghu" often has problems in using data, sometimes it is misunderstanding of identification information, and sometimes it is rash or out of context in the process of reading and using. In a person's life, life can be "make do" or "exquisite", but in the use of geological data, there is no "make do", only "exquisite" because it belongs to the rigorous geological discipline field. It is a complete and organic composite information, so I can't just intercept the fragments for my use. Similarly, because readers have different experiences and different levels, even high-level technicians have the phenomenon that "different people have different views", and they also have different interpretations or even completely opposite understandings and views on the information reflected in the same material, which is determined by readers' knowledge literacy and diversity of knowledge.

As for some "users", they misunderstood the meaning of the information in the data, quoted it, but got it right. This is called "dog excrement luck". We don't deny that it may appear in life, but it is very rare in the field of geology and mineral resources. On the contrary, there are many "chain effects" in data utilization. The earliest geological information often leads to a series of interpretations and uncontrollable continuous discoveries in the process of being read. Don't expect luck, but constantly improve your ability to identify and understand the information contained in geological data. Because the information contained in geological data and its effect are not unique, linear and inevitable, it will produce positive effects, and if geological data is used improperly, it will also produce "negative effects" contrary to the user's purpose. Its "negative effect" is of course a waste of manpower, material resources, financial resources and precious time.

More and more modern technologies and related equipment are used in geological exploration, which is getting better and better. Such as geophysical exploration, geochemical exploration, geological drilling, experimental testing and other technologies and corresponding equipment, accurately identify the information output by machinery and equipment, so that our judgment can be correct. A qualified geological scientist can't be proficient in all disciplines of geological science, but he should be required to read relevant professional and technical materials within his own work and business scope, and constantly accumulate and sublimate his reading ability, so as to discover the value contained in geological materials. Of course, multidisciplinary technicians should be experts in reading and using geological data.

During the period of 1977, a mineral unit in East China drilled Well X in Subei, with a depth of 4037 meters. The logging project was a complete set of contents at that time, that is, resistivity curve, acoustic wave, induction, neutron gamma, density, caliper and natural potential. 3826 ~ 3835 meters is the massive sandstone at the bottom of the first member of Fu. During drilling, there was no oil and gas display in this interval, and the logging curve showed a typical water layer response, which was interpreted as water layer by logging at that time. In the same structure, another well was drilled in 1990, and a full set of numerical control logging was carried out with 3700 numerical control logging tool, and the bottom block sandstone of Fu 1 member was also seen. The curve shows the characteristics of water layer, and logging interpretation is still water layer. 1998 has drilled another well in another geographical location of this block, and the sandstone at the bottom of the first member of the Fu Formation still exists. Logging and electrical logging are both water layers, which were initially identified as water layers at that time. Later, when water samples were taken from this layer, bubbles were accidentally found, which prompted the old data of the structure to be rechecked. Technicians reinterpreted the logging data in this area by using density-neutron curve inverse intersection method combined with resistivity curve, and corrected the raw water layer. After comparing the strata of three wells drilled in this block, it is considered that the original conventional logging interpretation means can not explain the gas reservoir. After repeated research by logging experts, the gas reservoir law of special water layer is found out, and the old well data is inverted by using this law, and a breakthrough in the gas reservoir of Fu 1 member is made.

The State Council 1999 issued the reform plan of geological prospecting team management system, which is a plan for geological prospecting units facing enterprises. The geological team under the former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources has been restructured, and the unit has gradually become an enterprise-type economic entity with independent operation, self-financing and self-restraint. At that time, the geological exploration budget 1998 remained unchanged (excluding one-time subsidy), and it was allocated to the enterprise as the working capital of the geological exploration team after commercialization. Geological exploration units belonging to metallurgy, nonferrous metals, light industry, chemical industry, building materials and other departments have been reorganized into enterprises or entered enterprise groups according to the actual conditions of their respective departments. Geological prospecting units have entered an unprecedented difficult period, and their investment has fallen sharply, changing from per capita funding to project funding. Reform will kill the geological prospecting team. The elites in the geological team have sought survival from geological data.

A regional geological survey team in Yunnan mobilized professional technicians to find a way out from their own regional geological survey data of 1: 1 10,000,1:200,000 and1:50,000, and found clues of gold, lead, zinc, copper and tin in the sleeping geological data. After the transformation, the regional geological survey team became a mining enterprise. The investigation team in this area also found ruby information in Yuanjiang map, which was confirmed by on-the-spot investigation, reported to the Geological Bureau and the national competent department, and was approved. Yuanjiang Ruby became the first ruby mine in China at that time. Now a large enterprise has been built.

Geologists in East China read other mineral information from oil and gas geological data, and developed "three major salt mines in Jiangsu" and a medium-sized CO2 gas field.

Geological data itself is a treasure, and it depends on whether we can "find" the treasure. Young people interested in geology and minerals should learn to look for treasures in geological data.

When users borrow geological data, they generally have the following requirements:

The first is to get a legal reading program. Article 19 of the Archives Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that the archives kept by the National Archives are generally open to the public for 30 years from the date of their formation. The period of opening economic, scientific, technological and cultural archives to the public is less than 30 years, and the period of opening archives involving national security or vital interests and other archives that are not suitable for opening due may exceed 30 years. Open geological archives, citizens can consult geological data with their resident ID cards.

Article 23 of the Regulations on the Management of Geological Data stipulates that the public welfare geological data formed by geological work funded by the state shall be made public to the public within 90 days from the date of submission and provided free of charge to the whole society. Reading these open geological data generally requires a resident ID card or a library card. There is no open geological data, which is generally only provided for internal use of enterprises, and a letter of introduction and a resident ID card at the relevant level in the system are required. Geological data within the protection period need corresponding letters of introduction and examination and approval procedures, and corresponding "data fees" may be charged.

Second, pay attention to intellectual property protection. The output of geological data can only be obtained through the input of geological workload, especially the research results have intellectual property rights. Learn to protect and respect the intellectual property rights of geological data owners. Don't illegally buy, sell or spread geological data whose property rights don't belong to you, so as to prevent unnecessary legal disputes.

The third is to strictly observe business secrets and state secrets. Geology and mineral resources are closely related to economic benefits under the market economy. Geological data obtained by investors are trade secrets, and users may not use them for profit without permission. A geological engineer took advantage of his work to dump a large number of single well data that did not belong to him abroad and illegally obtained interests that did not belong to him, and was investigated and dealt with for more than ten years. Users of geological data who go out to collect geological data on behalf of their own units shall not only provide the letter of introduction and identity certificate of their own units, but also need the receiving units to sign the Letter of Commitment on Confidentiality for the collected data. Personnel who collect and use geological maps, gravity maps and topographic maps. , belongs to the category of state secrets, and cannot violate the state secrets law.

Confidentiality CommitmentNo.:

Fourth, we should abide by reading discipline and borrowing system to protect the integrity and integrity of materials. For example, readers can't talk loudly in the reading room, mark, annotate, tear pages or maliciously tamper with electronic documents, and can't drink water or eat snacks in the reading room. Without approval, the electronic text shall not be copied, copied or duplicated.
