Shantou, referred to as "Shantou" for short, is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province and one of the four cities in Chaoshan. At the southern end of Hanjiang Delta, it is connected to Chaozhou in the north, Jieyang in the west, South China Sea in the south, and faces Taiwan Province Province across the sea. Hanjiang River, Rongjiang River and Lianjiang River flow into the sea, which is the only city in Chinese mainland with an inner bay.
