Pelvic effusion 14mm, is it serious?

Under normal physiological conditions, some women will have a little pelvic effusion. Therefore, when doing ultrasound examination, it is normal to mention that ultrasound examination can show a little effusion in pelvic cavity. Why is there pelvic effusion? Because the female pelvic cavity, especially the uterorectal fossa, is the lowest point of the abdominal cavity when the human body is in an upright position or sitting position. In this case, when the abdominal cavity is diseased or under physiological conditions, such as monthly ovulation accompanied by inflow of follicular fluid, mature eggs will be discharged, but after the follicular fluid is discharged, it will not be quickly absorbed by the peritoneum in a short time. If you do ultrasound examination just during ovulation, you will find a little effusion in the pelvic cavity, mostly in 1-2cm. If it exceeds 3-5cm, it may be caused by pathological reasons, such as ascites caused by tumor or digestive tract diseases, whether it may be caused by pelvic hematocele or pelvic inflammatory disease. If pelvic effusion exceeds 3-5cm during ultrasound examination, it is recommended to seek the help of a professional doctor as soon as possible.
