Ganxian District, which belongs to Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the south of Jiangxi Province, in the middle of Ganzhou City, in the upper reaches of Ganjiang River, adjacent to Dudu County and Anyuan County in the east, Xinfeng County in the south, zhanggong district and Nankang District in the west, Xingguo County and wanan county in Ji 'an City in the north, and forms the central city of Ganzhou with zhanggong district, Nankang District, Ganzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone and Rongjiang New District.
The total area of Ganxian County is 2993.09 square kilometers, accounting for 7.6% of the total area of Ganzhou City and 1.8% of the total area of Jiangxi Province. It governs 12 town and 7 townships, and also has 1 development zone with a registered population of 658,800.

Before the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to ancient Yangzhou.
In the Spring and Autumn Period, in the border area of Wu Chu. During the Warring States period, it was in the border of Vietnam and Chu in the early stage and in Chu in the later stage.
Qin belongs to Jiujiang County.
In the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (the first 20 years1), the county was founded, and it was named Ganxian because it was recorded in Shan Hai Jing that "there are giants in the south". It belongs to Zhang Yu County, which governs the Yi River. Xin Mang, transferred to Jiujiang County. In the first year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25th year), Jiujiang County was renamed Zhang Yu County. In the second year of Xingping (195), Sun Ce was divided into Zhangyu County and Ganxian County belonged to it.
In the Three Kingdoms period, in the fifth year of Sun Wujiahe (236), Luling County was placed in the south of Luling and Ganxian County belonged to it. In the same year, it was analyzed that Ganxian County was located in Pingyang County.
In the third year of Jin Taikang (282), it was changed to Nankang County, which belonged to Ganxian County. At the end of Taikang (289), the county ruled Geyi old city (now Shuidong area, zhanggong district, Ganzhou City). In the fifth year of Yonghe (349), the county moved to Zhanggong Ershuijian (now Ganzhou City).
