How to plant Polygonatum odoratum

1, site selection and soil preparation. Polygonatum odoratum has a large wild area, so it has strong adaptability to soil. However, when planting artificially, it is mainly based on yield, so soil selection should be done well before planting. The planting soil of Polygonatum odoratum should be thick, soft, with normal irrigation and drainage, sufficient sunlight and slightly acidic sandy soil. After soil selection, soil preparation is carried out, and the soil is deeply ploughed by about 30cm. Then apply enough organic fertilizer per mu as the main base fertilizer, and the dosage is controlled at about 3500kg. After fertilization, fine harrow and flat cultivation.

2. Selection of valve stem. The propagation method of Polygonatum odoratum is generally based on seed stem propagation, and underground rhizome should be selected as seed stem before propagation. The choice of seed stem should be judged according to the size and color of rhizome. Generally, when harvesting in autumn, the full and yellowish root buds born that year are selected for rhizome propagation. The breeding of Polygonatum odoratum should follow the principle of digging seeds, if the weather is really not suitable for planting. Then the roots and buds should be stored indoors in a cool place to prevent deterioration and decay and reduce the germination rate. Finally, the amount of stems per mu is controlled at about 250 kg.

3. The seed stems germinate quickly. Seed stems need to germinate before planting. First, you need to soak the stem in cold water for a day, and then take it out of the air-dried water. Put the seed stems in wet sand and then put them in a container. First, spread about 4 cm of wet sand on the bottom of the container, and then spread about 5 cm of wet sand on the top. The water content of sand is controlled at about 15%, and then it is placed at a temperature of about 25 degrees. Check the temperature and humidity changes every three days and adjust the humidity appropriately. 10 days later, check the germination. When a large number of seeds appear in the stem embryo, put it at a temperature of about 5 degrees, three times a month, and sow after one month.

4. Plant in time. The planting time of Polygonatum odoratum is generally 10 month per year. Pay attention to the weather when planting, and don't plant in rainy days. Planting should be done on cloudy or sunny days. Ditching should be done before planting. Control the row spacing on the border, keep it at about 30 cm, and dig a ditch with a depth of about 15 cm. Then put the seeds neatly in the ditch, cover them with a layer of decomposed farm manure, cover them with fine soil, and water them to germinate.
