The Yellow River Bridge in Shizuishan City was built at 1988. It is a transportation hub connecting Ningxia and Inner Mongolia, and has been in service for 25 years. Due to the excessive load, the bridge span structure, deck, railings and other diseases occurred to varying degrees, and all trucks were prohibited from passing on September 12. In this reinforcement scheme, the original box bridge is changed into a low-pylon cable-stayed bridge, the deck is resurfaced, and the original guardrail is changed into a wall-type anti-collision guardrail. After reinforcement, the bridge will return to the original design load, and both passenger and freight vehicles under the load can pass. After the bridge is closed, vehicles can bypass provincial highway 203, national highway 1 10, Beijing-Tibet Expressway, or drive via the downstream Yellow River pontoon bridge.
The reconstruction and expansion project of Shizuishan Yellow River Highway Bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in June 2065438+2005. By then, the seven lanes of the new bridge and the old bridge will pass at the same time, the capacity will be doubled, and it will be more convenient and fast for vehicles to travel between Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.
