On the Misreading of Ancient Poetry

There are other explanations for the word "sunset" in the sentence "The sunset is lonely, the sky is the same as the autumn water" in the preface to Wang Tengting in Tang Dynasty. Some data show that "sunset" does not refer to clouds, but to "moths scattered". To understand the meaning of this sentence by Wang Bo, we must first understand the local scenery when he wrote Preface to Wang Tengting. In the Song Dynasty, someone said in the book "Notes on Gaizhai" that "sunset" is not rosy clouds, but moths in autumn in Nanchang, just like wheat moths today. Every July and August, moths fall into the river one after another, and all the fish in the river come to eat. The locals call it "Xia", so Wang Bo uses this word to match "Qi" in the following sentences. Yu Yuan De of Song Dynasty also said in his Ode to Snowflakes that the "sunset glow" in Wang Bo's Preface to Wang Tengting is a kind of moth, and the locals call it "sunset glow moth" instead of "cloud". Emu is a wild duck. Wild ducks chase moths and want to eat them, so they are called "Qi Fei". In addition, the "setting" of the sunset does not mean "setting", but is opposite to "lonely" in the sentence, with the same or similar meaning, meaning "scattered, scattered". The scattered moths are chased by lonely ducks on the water, forming the old saying "Sunset and Lonely Qi Fei". Some scholars believe that this view has some truth, but as the saying goes,' Poetry is unattainable', there are various interpretations of poetry, and there is no difference between good and bad, as long as it makes sense. How to explain the "sunset" here remains to be carefully tasted by readers. However, it should be pointed out that the exam should be based on the textbook, which is the "sunset glow" solution.
