The master was deeply impressed and determined to go to Japan to spread the precepts. The master made five trips to the East, but he failed to make it because of the reluctance of Chinese people, pirates, storms and other reasons, during which he drifted for eleven years. Later, the master became blind, but his ambition to go to Japan did not diminish.

In the twelfth year of Tianbao, the Japanese envoy Fujiwara Qinghe once again begged the master China Eastern Airlines, which was the sixth time. At that time, there were eleven people who went with the master, including Fajin, TanJing and Stowe. The master was 60 years old. The Japanese emperor sent a message of condolences and awarded the title of "exorcist". According to the Taoist altar map, the master built an altar in front of Piluzena Buddha in Dongda Temple. The master once again taught the people and Japanese monks the precepts of Bodhisattva, which was the beginning of Japanese altar teaching.

Later, the master founded Tan Jieyuan in the west of the Great Buddha Hall, and Tang Zen Temple in the north, which was filled with four people. In the seventh year of Tianping Shengbao (755), the master got Niitabe's residence and built a temple as an enchantment Dojo. The following year, the master was appointed as a great monk in Xiadu, but he didn't serve as a great monk for a long time, but he resigned on the grounds of complicated educational affairs.

In the year of Tianpingbao (757), the Japanese emperor named him "the Great Monk" and prepared a hundred towns in the paddy fields of the former country. The master began to build Galand in Shangyuan, and the temple was completed. The Japanese emperor also gave him the amount of "Tang Luzhao's mention", and soon ordered the construction of the ring altar, and invited the Japanese people to learn the law and receive the ring, which became the fundamental Dojo for giving the ring and spreading the law.

In addition, the master also invited the Yongle Temple in Shimonoseki and Kannonji in Zhuzi to start building the ring altar. These two annular altars, together with the annular altars of Dongda Temple, are called the three annular altars in Japan. Since then, Japanese law has flourished. On May 6th, the seventh year of Tian Ping Steamed Bun, the master sat still with a pimple on his face. He lived to be seventy years old.
