Xiaowen recently bought a second-hand house of about 90 square meters with her boyfriend to get married. In order to have a better effect, they specially invited professional designers as staff. Who knows, Xiaowen and her boyfriend can't agree with many schemes put forward by the designer, but after all, the designer is a professional, and his scheme must have his consideration, so Xiaowen is very contradictory and doesn't know whether to follow the designer's words. Therefore, the planned renovation date had to be postponed.
● Overdesign, ignoring safety.
It turns out that the position on the right side of the door is a kitchen of more than 3 square meters. The designer suggested that Xiaowen make the kitchen open, then spread tempered glass on the kitchen floor, use metal aluminum gusset on the ceiling, set a beautiful decorative mirror on the side wall, make a glass wine cabinet on the mirror, and then put a group of small cabinets and stoves on the front.
Designer's idea: The designer hopes that the open kitchen can bring more vitality to the originally narrow living room space. The tempered glass on the ground echoes the aluminum gusset ceiling with high brightness and good reflection, which reflects the transparency of the space. Coupled with the matching of various glass ornaments, the kitchen has become the most eye-catching and prominent part of the whole home. It would be better if only the kitchen lights were turned on at night. Guests can feel the host's intention and the extension of space as soon as they enter the door.
Xiaowen's doubt: From the sense of space alone, this design really adds a lot of color to the living room, which is both beautiful and individual. But if we consider it from the perspective of use, there are many problems. For example, the tempered glass on the kitchen floor does not slip after consultation, and the kitchen is definitely a place for cooking and laundry. Once there is water on the ground, isn't it easy to slip? In addition, Xiaowen's mother often goes to Xiaowen's house to help them with some things. Xiaowen's mother was really scared when she heard that the whole kitchen was covered with glass. Anyway, after thinking about it, I feel unusual and insecure.
● Overdesign 2 ignores the climate.
Because it is an old house, there is a small balcony in the main and auxiliary bedroom space. The designer suggested that the wall of the master bedroom balcony be removed to expand the whole bedroom space.
Designer's idea: After the wall between the bedroom and the balcony is opened, the whole space will extend outward, and the master bedroom will be much larger both physically and visually, but don't install sliding doors and the like where the door and the window are connected, so the effect will not come out. The wall inside the balcony is not the load-bearing wall of the whole house, but only plays the role of pressing the balcony, so even if it is hit, as long as it is not overweight, it will not be dangerous and will not affect daily life.
Xiaowen's doubt: Because many things are not understood in the decoration, the wall on the inside of the balcony was hit as the designer said at the beginning. It seems that the bedroom is really much bigger and brighter. But then I heard from other professionals that even the balcony walls can't be changed casually, because the house has a certain age, and the fight may just begin.
I don't see any problems, but after a long time, problems appear and are easy to be dangerous. I feel scared when I hear Xiaowen. In addition, it is windy and dusty in the north, and the house facing south in summer is just illuminated by the big sun. If you don't install a sliding door or something like what the designer said, there will definitely be many problems in living.
● Overdesign three neglected spaces.
There used to be an old wardrobe on the wall behind the second bedroom door to put some sundries. The designer suggested that Xiaowen dismantle the wardrobe, and then make a walk-in cloakroom in this room, or put a sofa bed that can be easily moved, which can be used as a guest room if guests come. But in order to make this room more pure, we should put bookshelves and desks in the living room.
Designer's idea: Today's young people like a simple lifestyle, and the walk-in cloakroom just fits this point, and in this way, the master bedroom does not need to take out so much space to put the wardrobe, and the functions are clearly distinguished.
Xiaowen's doubt: Actually, I like this design very much. I have a lot of clothes, and I always feel that there is not enough space in the closet. It's much more convenient to have a walk-in cloakroom. But it also involves the mother's problem. If my mother comes to stay for a few days occasionally, the sofa bed will definitely be uncomfortable, and when I wake up, there are clothes everywhere, which makes me feel like I am in the utility room, which is also strange. In addition, the living room of 15 square meters should have bookshelves and desks in addition to sofas, coffee tables and televisions. Is that too crowded? Moreover, work space and leisure space will interfere with each other.
● Expert reminder ●
This house is for living, not for seeing.
After listening to the designer's ideas and Xiaowen's doubts, I think they all have their own reasons. So, the reporter interviewed Miss Zou, the designer of Yuanzhou Shang Zhi Studio, with questions. Miss Zou told reporters that in general, when designing, the first consideration must be safety, practicality and functionality, and finally the sense of design. The house is for living, not for seeing, so I want to consider beauty on the premise of satisfying all functions. They also disapprove that some owners focus most of their energy on design and ignore the purpose of the house itself.
Miss Zou said that all the questions raised by Xiaowen were correct. No matter what kind of design the designer makes, it must conform to the residents' residence. Xiaowen's designers hope to make the space more perfect through their own designs. Although the starting point is not wrong, it is too unrealistic. Moreover, many of his ideas did not take into account the residents' living feelings. In this case, we should communicate with designers more and speak out our doubts boldly. For this small apartment of 90 square meters, the most important thing is to improve each functional space, and then make the space as crowded as possible through some uncomplicated ways, and even feel extended. For example, a large number of light or bright colors are used indoors, and mirrors and other reflective ornaments are placed.
● Interview notes ●
Learn to communicate closely with designers.
The reporter found in the interview that the process of communicating with designers is very important, because when you are looking for a decoration company, the first contact is the designer, who will give you a basic concept of decoration. So, communicate with them more, tell them your life situation, ideas and preferences, and let them tailor your design for you.
