Project overview
Jingzhou section of Qianjiang-Shishou Expressway is a part of Jingmen-Shishou Expressway in Hubei Province's skeleton highway network planning from 2002 to 2020. The highway starts from Jingmen City, passes through Shayang, Qianjiang and Jiangling, and ends in Gaojimiao Town, Shishou, of which Jingzhou is about 75 kilometers long, including a Shishou Yangtze River Highway Bridge. At present, the provincial department of transportation has included the time-shifting expressway project in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and started the preliminary design work.
As the "third vertical" in the main skeleton of Jingzhou's planned "three horizontal and five vertical" expressway, Shiqian Expressway connects Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway in the north and Jiangnan Expressway in the south, which will not only unblock the first section of Changjiang-Shijiazhuang North-South Expressway, but also solve the export problem of jiangling county Expressway and further improve Jingzhou's expressway network.
Project feasibility analysis
Shiqian Expressway is the geographical axis of the two lakes plain, connecting Jingmen, Shayang, Qianjiang, Jiangling, Shishou and Huarong, benefiting nearly 5 million people in the two lakes region. It is connected to the National Erguang Expressway (Xiangfan Jingzhou Expressway) in the north, Nanxian to Changning Expressway in Hunan in the south, and Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong in the south.
Shiqian Expressway connects Qianjiang, Jiangling and Shishou, connects with Huarong, the national Hangrui Expressway, and connects several economic development zones and industrial parks from north to south. Time-shifting expressway will become a part of China's north-south corridor. The planning of expressways from Nanxian to Yiyang, Yiyang to Loudi and Hengyang in Hunan Province has been started, and some sections have started construction.
