Wang Xiulin's main responsibilities

Wang Xiulin, a researcher in the Forest History Research Office of Beijing Forestry University, a senior consultant of the Traditional Furniture Professional Committee of China Furniture Association, a master of inheritance technology, and the owner of Lin Xiu Studio. He has presided over the restoration of 66 pieces of classical furniture and cultural relics used by the Palace Museum, including Qianlong, Cixi and famous figures in CCTV's people column.

Master Wang Xiulin has been attached to wood since childhood. When he was a child, he used to stick a pistol with a popsicle stick or make a small ping-pong box out of discarded wood for fun. From 65438 to 0974, Wang Xiulin stepped into the society and worked as a carpenter in Beijing Longshuncheng China Furniture Factory, a century-old brand, under the tutelage of Liu Honglai, a famous carpenter who was famous in Beijing during the Republic of China. Master Wang Xiulin studied with his teacher for three years and then worked with him for ten years.

In 2000, after retiring from the furniture factory, Master Wang Xiulin was busier than going to work. He goes to Beihai, Ditan, Taoranting and other parks every three days to introduce the knowledge of mahogany furniture to tourists, attend lectures at various mahogany forums, and volunteer to identify the authenticity of furniture for others. He was called "Saburo of Redwood Despair" by the industry.

In 2002, Master Wang created the "Lin Xiu joint sealing method" by using the physical characteristics of wood. No matter whether the core boards and panels of new and old furniture are cracked, the cracks can be closed without opening the frame, filling wood or putty.

On July 6th, 2007, Master Wang Xiulin established Lin Xiu Studio in Chengnan Aijia Redwood Grand View Building. Lin Xiu Studio inherits the Chinese classical furniture culture, and serves the classical furniture with the modes of mahogany knowledge and obligation consultation, mahogany furniture maintenance training course, classical furniture manufacturing technology training course, hand-carved live demonstration, customer on-site personal experience and exhibition furniture shopping guide. 20 10 On May 6th, Lin Xiu's studio moved from Aijia Hongmu Grand View Building to Jimei Hongmu City in Dahongmen.

For more than 40 years, Mr. Wang Xiulin has a profound understanding and research on the structure, materials and technology of Chinese classical furniture. He summed up five methods of purchasing furniture: knocking, touching, listening, watching and measuring, and invented and developed the techniques of "sealing seams" and "waxing", which won favorable comments in the industry.

At the same time, after nearly three years of continuous speech, training and publicity, the manufacturers, distributors and customers of Aijia Hongmu Grand View Building have benefited a lot. Today, Wang Xiulin is a visiting professor at Beijing Forestry University. In addition to teaching students about furniture culture, he also took three doctoral students. In order to inherit the traditional craft of mahogany furniture, he recently accepted two apprentices, one graduated from Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts and the other was the champion of the national mahogany furniture competition. In addition, Master Wang has a bigger ambition: to use his old age and reputation to explain the knowledge of mahogany to more manufacturers, customers and enthusiasts, and to promote Chinese classical furniture culture.
