The orientation and orientation of China map are generally consistent with other maps, that is, due north orientation (due north orientation above the map). Occasionally, in some cases, such as being influenced by the projection deformation of some maps, or making maps with bird's-eye view in different directions, the true north direction of such China maps may not be above the map.
According to the regulations of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information, the scale of the whole map of China should be 1: 1 10,000 and below. Generally speaking, the scale of the standard China map is1:4 million, which is already the size of a larger wall chart (horizontal version).
On August 29th, 2022, the Ministry of Natural Resources released 20 standard maps in 2022, including 6 maps of China in Chinese and 4 maps of China/kloc-0 in English. On August 28th, 2023, Standard Map 2023 was officially released on the standard map service website sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The map of China must meet the following requirements.
1, which accurately reflects the territorial scope of China.
(1) Map range: draw the intersection of Heilongjiang and Wusuli River in the east, draw the north stream of basin pool in the west, draw the northernmost section of Heilongjiang in the north, and draw Zengmu shoal in the south (except the historical map before Han Dynasty).
(2) The whole map of China must represent the South China Sea Islands, Diaoyu Islands, chiwei yu and other important islands, and draw the line of the South China Sea Islands' belonging range with corresponding symbols. If the scale is equal to or less than 1: 1 100 million, the line of South China Sea Islands can be changed from 9-segment line to 7-segment line, that is, the second and seventh segments are deleted from the left, which does not mean Diaoyu Island and chiwei yu.
2. Correctly express the relationship between China's national boundaries and landforms, features, longitude and latitude lines, ribbons and other elements, and correctly mark the place names near national boundaries.
(1) China's territory is represented by solid lines, and the thickness of land boundary and coastline is different. Draw the range lines of the South China Sea Islands with corresponding simplified symbols, indicating the South China Sea Islands, Diaoyu Island, chiwei yu and other important islands and reefs.
(2) Use contour lines or color blocks to represent the territory of China, and the range lines of the South China Sea Islands can be omitted, but it must represent the South China Sea Islands, Diaoyu Islands, chiwei yu and other important islands and reefs.
(3) If the scale is equal to or less than 1: 1 billion, it does not mean the range lines of the South China Sea islands, Diaoyu Island, chiwei yu and other islands and reefs.
