/kloc-in April of 0/89 (the sixth year of Zhong Ping), Liu Hong, the emperor gaozu of the Han Dynasty, died in the protection palace, and Liu You succeeded him. Because Liu Bian was young and ignorant, He Taihou temporarily took charge of the imperial court, and the imperial power declined even more. The struggle for imperial power between eunuchs and consorts is becoming increasingly fierce. The two sides will use all means to push each other out and fight to the death.
Dong Zhuo was well aware of the factional struggle in the imperial court. When he learned of the death of Emperor Ling, he was secretly happy. He paid close attention to the movements of various factions in the imperial court, and prepared corresponding measures at any time to improvise.
Soon, Dong Zhuo, who was waiting for an opportunity in Hedong, received a secret order from General Blade. Blades is the uncle of Shaodi, representing consorts. After the death of Emperor Ling, he and Yuan Shao, a captain, conspired to kill him, which was opposed by He Taihou. Therefore, blades lured Dong Zhuo to benefit, and in the name of imperial edict, told him to immediately go to Beijing to attack Zhang Rang, so as to intimidate He Taihou. Dong Zhuo was overjoyed after receiving the imperial edict. He immediately called his troops and led them to Beijing for a few days. According to the meaning of blades, he wrote to the emperor, demanding to "drive away the evil on your side" and "retreat and clean up the rape".
However, Dong Zhuo never imagined that blades had not yet arrived in Luoyang, and he was killed in the struggle with Zhang Rang and others.
At this point, samurai corps commander Yuan Shu also stationed in Luoyang. After hearing the news that Blade was killed, he set fire to the Nangong, killing Zhang Rang and others. Zhang Rang and Zhong Changshi Duan Si hijacked young emperors Liu Bian and Chen Liuwang Liu Xie at the Yellow River ferry overnight and fled to Xiaopingjin (now southwest of Gongxian County, Henan Province). Dong Zhuo, who was marching, saw a sea of fire in Beijing from a distance and knew that the situation had changed. He found that Shaodi was in Beijiang, and Dong Zhuo hurried to lead the troops. Shaodi was frightened by the swarming army and burst into tears. Dong Zhuo swaggered to see Shao Di and asked him what had happened. The little emperor was tongue-tied and incoherent, while Liu Xie and Chen Liuwang, who stood by, took the initiative to tell Dong Zhuo what had happened. Liu Xie was only nine years old at that time, five years younger than Shao Di. Dong Zhuo was overjoyed and thought that Liu Xie was much better than Liu Bian, and because he was raised by Dong Taihou himself, he had the initial idea of ousting Liu Bian and establishing Liu Xie.
After Dong Zhuo welcomed the young emperor into the palace, he took the son of heaven as a vassal and began to intervene in the central government of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Dong Zhuo, who has been through war, deeply realized that if he wants to conquer officials and control the imperial court, he must first master strong military backing. When he first arrived in Luoyang, Dong Zhuo's subordinate troops did not exceed 3,000. In order to have a strong military deterrent effect on Luoyang from the beginning, he ordered his men to sneak out of Luoyang at night every four or five days and then March into Luoyang the next morning. Drums are blaring, flags are flying, and troops are constantly flowing. All Luoyang people, including court officials, were intimidated by Dong Zhuo's great strength and dared not commit any deviant behavior.
Although hallucinations can temporarily confuse people, they will eventually be seen through. Dong Zhuo's move can only be an expedient measure. After a slight adjustment, he began to take practical actions to expand his troops and seize the military power.
After General He Jin was killed by Zhang Rang-fu, Wu Kuang, his trilogy general, held a grudge against his younger brother He Miao (then a general riding a chariot). He believes that He Miao is deliberately unwilling to cooperate with blades, and he also suspects that he colluded with * * * to deal with blades. Wu Kuangnian's blade has always been kind to himself, vowing to kill He Miao and avenge him. Then he sent an order, saying, "Miao He, the general on horseback, colluded with him to kill the general. We must avenge him! " Therefore, Dong Zhuo's younger brother Dong Min joined forces with him to attack and kill He Miao. After He Miao's death, Dong Zhuo took advantage of the fisherman's interests and took over the troops of Blade and He Miao, each with a single soldier.
It is extremely important to control the central political power and the military power of Luoyang garrison. Dong Zhuo made specific arrangements and sent his confidant general Lu Bu to kill Zhi Jinwu and take over all the Beijing defense forces. From then on, Dong Zhuo not only controlled a large number of conventional troops, but also mastered the troops directly under Luoyang, and fully possessed the military foundation for controlling state affairs. This greatly increased his ambition for further expansion.
At that time, Bao Xin had a clear understanding of the expansion of Dong Zhuo's military power. He once said to Yuan Shao, "Dong Zhuo owns Qiang Bing and is always ambitious. If we don't find a way to get rid of him now, he will be bound by it in the future. Today, Dong Zhuo's troops are mixed, unstable and disorganized. Can be removed as soon as possible. " But Yuan Shao didn't take action because he was afraid of Dong Zhuo and was indecisive.
With strong military backing, Dong Zhuo has no fear and does whatever he wants. First, he forced the court to dismiss Sikong Ricas and replace him by himself. Then, in order to further monopolize the central government, Dong Zhuo decided to convene civil and military officials to discuss the abolition of the young emperor and set up a new emperor.
At a meeting, Dong Zhuo said unscrupulously: "The young emperor is ignorant and cowardly, can't worship the ancestral temple, and is not qualified to be the king of the world. For the sake of the country, for the sake of the Han Dynasty, I will follow the story of Yi Yin releasing Tai Jia and Huo Guang abolishing Changyi, abolishing the young emperor and making Liu Xie the son of heaven! " Most officials present were awed by Dong Zhuo's arrogance and dared not speak out about his arbitrariness. Only Lu Zhi, the prime minister, objected face to face, thinking that Shaodi was young and his behavior character could not be compared with Tai Jia and Changyi Wang. Dong Zhuo was furious. He didn't expect Lu Zhi to be so rude that he dared to openly oppose himself. He immediately ordered the soldiers to behead him. Thanks to the waiter Cai Yong, he managed to stop Lu Zhi's death. Later, Dong Zhuo abolished Shaodi and made him the king of Hongnong. The other established Xie, that is, Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty.
After abolishing the emperor, Dong Zhuo disliked He Taihou, thinking that she hindered her freedom of action and prestige in the imperial court. Therefore, Dong Zhuo also called a meeting of ministers to criticize the so-called crimes of the Queen Mother, saying how she persecuted her mother-in-law Queen Yongle (the mother of Emperor Liu Hong) and made the Queen Mother die of anxiety. This kind of education that goes against the common sense of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and does not pay attention to filial piety should be severely punished. After that, Dong Zhuo ordered He Taihou to move to Yong 'an Palace. Soon, Dong Zhuo killed the young emperor Liu Bian and poisoned He Taihou.
Through the replacement and handling of the top officials of the central government, the whole Eastern Han government was almost completely controlled by Dong Zhuo: it was up to Dong Zhuo to abolish the emperor, appoint and remove courtiers and formulate major policies. At this point, Dong Zhuo, who is extremely ambitious, has become arrogant.
After the change of Xian Di, Dong Zhuo promoted himself to Qiu, became one of the three public offices, and was in charge of the national military and the general affairs of the former dynasty. Later, he appointed himself as a county magistrate, worshiping the country, ranking first among the three public offices and taking charge of the power of the prime minister. Although Dong Zhuo is called "one person below, ten thousand people above", he actually goes far beyond the emperor and enjoys the privilege of "praising the unknown, not going to court, holding a sword to the temple".
One person gets the word, and the chicken and dog ascend to heaven. After Dong Zhuo was promoted to the title, he also used his privilege to seal the members of the Dong Shi family. He first named his mother Chi Yangjun, and Li Yue was equipped with family orders and ministers, and her status was equivalent to that of a royal princess. At the same time, Dong Zhuo worshipped his younger brother as General Zuo and named him Hou. In addition, he named his young granddaughter Yang Jun ... What's more, "Zhuo's concubines hold neutrons, all of which are sealed with gold and purple."
In order to control the emperor more effectively, Dong Zhuo ignored the opposition of courtiers and coerced Xian Di to move the capital from Luoyang to Chang 'an. Dong Zhuo also ignored the ritual system and imperial power, and built a dock fort the size of Chang 'an city wall in his fief, which was 70 feet high. He openly named it "Long live the pier" and stipulated that any official must dismount and respectfully give him a gift when passing through his fief.
When he first arrived in Luoyang, Dong Zhuo's men gathered a number of confidants, but in the huge central bureaucratic system, it was far from enough to win the battle. And at that time, many bureaucrats with certain power and influence in North Korea refused to accept Dong Zhuo at all. In this regard, in the process of playing politics, Dong Zhuo secretly cultivated his minions, widely recruited his cronies, and attacked and framed all forces and groups that were unfavorable to him by means of wooing, enticing and crowding out. After being named Hou, Dong Zhuo tried his best to win over Situ Huangwan and Yang Biao, flattering and supporting Chen Fan and Dou Wu, all of whom had been demoted. Dong Zhuo not only restored the former titles of Chen Fan and others, but also promoted their children and grandchildren, making them for their own use from generation to generation. But in fact, almost no scholar was bought by Dong Zhuo.
According to historical records, Dong Zhuo used his privilege to re-promote and appoint a large number of party member, such as Zhou Bi, the official minister, Wu Qiong, Zheng, and He Wei, the official minister. Not only that, as long as it is related to the above-mentioned people, Dong Zhuo is pulled out as a fierce Qing, and for a time, "the depressed people are more obvious." Cai Yong, a great contemporary writer, was also recruited by Dong Zhuo.
At the beginning, Cai Yong, a negotiator, was exiled to the north because he wrote an outspoken letter to the emperor, and was later pardoned before returning to the village. Wang Zhi, a local official, had a personal vendetta against Cai Yong, so he impeached Cai Yong and made some remarks criticizing the government. Cai Yong was forced to run away from home and wander the Jianghu for twelve years. Dong Zhuo had long heard about Cai Yong's fame and talent, so he specially recruited him to be an official in Beijing. Cai Yong didn't want to get involved in politics again, and politely refused. Dong Zhuo threatened Cai Yong: "If you don't listen, I will kill your family." Cai Yong was afraid and had to return to Luoyang. Dong Zhuo was overjoyed and appointed him as a drink offering. He had great respect for Cai Yong, and later he was constantly promoted to the official position. According to historical records, Cai Yong visited the "three stations" in three days, from officials to court retinue.
Dong Zhuo not only arranged personal forces in the central ministries, but also arranged local minions by appointing satrap and secretariat. In this way, Dong Zhuo has basically controlled the main political forces of the central and local governments by planting his own eyes and ears at different levels. As long as the officials who are dissatisfied with him make the slightest move, he will completely eradicate them without mercy, make an example of them and shock the ruling and opposition parties.
Dong Zhuo observed that Yuan Shao and Cao Cao, who have real power in their hands, are not good for themselves and must be removed as soon as possible.
Long before the abolition of the emperor, Dong Zhuo wanted to support him with Yuan Shao, who strongly opposed it. On one occasion, Yuan Shao said, "The kindness of the Eastern and Western Han Dynasties spread all over the world, and all the people supported it, which made the country stable. Although today's emperor is young, he has not spread evil deeds all over the world. If you want to oust the emperor and replace him with a new one, I'm afraid no one will agree with you. " Upon hearing this, Dong Zhuo revealed lost face. He raised his sword and angered Yuan Shao, saying, "I meant to value you. I didn't expect you to be so ungrateful. If I don't kill you today, it will always be a disaster! " Lombardi also put his hand on the hilt, tit for tat, Dong Zhuo dare not make a move. That night, Yuan Shao fled to Bohai County for refuge. Because Yuan Shao is a family, Dong Zhuo dare not pursue it.
When Dong was stationed in Luoyang, Cao Cao was also in Beijing, and he had certain military power. In the process of expanding the army and withdrawing troops, Dong Zhuo also tried to eat Cao Cao by inducements. But Cao Cao saw through Dong Zhuo's plot, refused to cooperate with him, left without saying goodbye and fled Luoyang.
Zhang Wen, Wei Jiang, once served as Qiu, and was always extremely dissatisfied with Dong Zhuo's bullying and brutality. Dong Zhuo also regards Zhang Wen as a thorn in his side. In order to get rid of this big trouble, Dong Zhuo spread rumors in the DPRK, accusing Zhang Wen of collaborating with Yuan Shu against the court for a long time. Soon, Zhang Wen was killed on charges of "unwarranted".
Under Dong Zhuo's threats, inducements and intrigues, his competitors and many loyal officials in the DPRK were either forced to flee or completely annihilated. Dong Zhuo wantonly played politics and killed innocent people, which aroused strong indignation and opposition from officials and people.
Dong Zhuo is "cruel and heartless, so he helps the public with severe punishment, and the gap between the two will widen, and people will not protect themselves." When he led the army into Luoyang for the first time, he saw that the city was full of wealth and nobles, and every family was well-off, and there were countless gold and silk possessions, so he indulged his soldiers and implemented the so-called "imprisonment" movement. These soldiers killed and set fires everywhere, raped women and looted materials, which made the whole city of Luoyang restless and full of complaints.
After Dong Zhuo took control of the central government, his cruelty became even more vicious, and he often sent soldiers to plunder and maim the people.
190 (the first year of Chuping) In February, Dong Zhuo's Qiang robbed people gathered in rural communities in Yangcheng. The soldiers killed all the men, brutally cut off their heads, and lay bloody side by side on the shaft, which was shocking. In addition, they also took the opportunity to rob a large number of women and a large number of property. After returning to Luoyang, his generals collected their heads and burned them. At the same time, they distributed women and property to the soldiers, but claimed that they had won the victory over the enemy.
On one occasion, Dong Zhuo invited many officials from the DPRK to dinner. Officials are puzzled and don't know what medicine Dong Zhuo put in the gourd. At the banquet, Dong Zhuo was in high spirits and called on everyone not to worry about it and to drink as much as possible. After three rounds of drinking, Dong Zhuo suddenly got up and mysteriously said to the people present: "In order to help everyone get over the hangover, I will present a wonderful program for everyone, please enjoy it!" Say that finish, high-five laugh wildly. Suddenly, the whole banquet turned into a cold execution ground. Dong Zhuo took hundreds of northern rebels who seduced prisoners to the center of the venue. He first ordered the soldiers to cut off their tongues, and then some people had their hands and feet cut off and others had their eyes gouged out. The cruelty of its means made all the officials and soldiers present miserable, and many guests shook off their chopsticks in fear. Dong Zhuo, however, as if nothing had happened, still drank freely, with a proud look on his face.
On another occasion, Dong Zhuo first tied hundreds of captured uprising soldiers with cloth strips and stood upside down. Then he poured ointment on them and set them on fire, which was extremely cruel.
When he moved the capital to Chang 'an, Dong Zhuo set fire to a large number of palaces, ancestral temples, treasuries and other buildings in and around Luoyang in order to prevent officials and civilians from fleeing back to the old capital Luoyang. The once prosperous Luoyang city suddenly turned into ruins, and the bleak and miserable scene made people feel sorry for it.
In order to grab wealth, Dong Zhuo also sent Lu Bu to rob the tombs of the tombs and officials and search for all the treasures.
The whole city of Luoyang is in chaos. Under the wanton trampling and destruction of Dong Zhuo, there are many holes everywhere. Cao Cao was outraged by this. He wrote a poem "Autumn Louxing", which was ridiculed:
Thieves and ministers hold the national handle, killing the Lord and killing Yujing. Swing through the emperor's inheritance, the ancestral temple was burned. Spread all over the west and cry. Looking at Belo City, I am very sad.
After Dong Zhuo came to power, the state system was changeable and capricious, which seriously hindered the normal operation of the whole state power machine. Among them, the legal punishment he promulgated was particularly chaotic and indecent: ordinary people were often punished by cruel laws, but cronies were not punished, and everything depended on Dong Zhuo's personal will. According to Shu Wei, Dong Zhuo specially assigned Liu Qi, a captain of Li Si, to register the so-called subjects who are "unfilial to their sons, ministers, unknown ministers and younger brothers". Anyone who is famous in the book should be executed and his property confiscated. Soon, the whole society will be boiling and there will be unfair imprisonment everywhere.
In order to accumulate huge wealth for himself, Dong Zhuo destroyed a lot of five baht, and ordered all the bronze men, bronze bells and bronze horses to be broken and recast into small money. Sub-prime money is not only lighter than five baht, but also has no coat of arms, and the edge of money has no outline and is not wearable. The circulation of small money directly leads to serious inflation: currency depreciation and soaring prices. According to historical records, it cost tens of thousands of dollars to buy a stone valley at that time. The people are miserable, and their lives are extremely painful. Dong Zhuo, on the other hand, sang and danced all day with the money he received, having fun and living a dissolute life.
Dong Zhuo's perverse behavior finally aroused the anger and resistance of the broad masses of the people. Many people with lofty ideals have waged a long and unyielding struggle with Dong Zhuo for the sake of national peril, which has greatly hit and shaken Dong Zhuo's position and foundation.
At first, Gai Xun, the negotiator, secretly consulted with the left general Huangfusong to prepare a * * * crusade against Dong Zhuo. Only later, because of Huang Fusong's harness, Yang Xun was weak and didn't stop there.
In 190 (the first year of Chuping), Han Fu, Liu Dai, Kong Zhou, Zhang Zi, Yuan Shao, etc. 10 all rose up against Dong Zhuo, and a large-scale wave of continuous struggle against Dong Zhuo began.
Soon, Sun Jian, the Changsha magistrate, led the troops of Yuzhou counties to conquer Dong Zhuo, and was defeated by Dong Zhuo in Liangdi (now southwest of Liangzhou County, Ruzhou). CoCo Lee, the Yingzhou magistrate who opposed Dong Zhuo with Sun Jian, was also captured alive.
Then, Wang Kuang, the satrap of Hanoi, stationed troops in Heyangjin (now the West Yellow River Ferry in Mengxian County, Henan Province) and prepared to attack Dong Zhuo. Unexpectedly, the wily Dong Zhuo had already noticed it. He first sent suspected soldiers to challenge Wang Kuang, but secretly sent elite troops to cross the river from Ping Jin to the north to attack Wang Kuang and his men. Wang Kuang was defeated, almost completely annihilated.
19 1 year (the second year of Chuping). Sun Jian gathered his diaspora men and stationed in Liang County, ready to crusade against Dong Zhuo again. Dong Zhuo sent Hu Zhen and Lu Bu to meet Sun Jian. Because of the bad feelings between Hu and Lu, they can't live in harmony. The soldiers ran away before they fought. Sun Jian took the opportunity to attack, and Hu Zhen and Lu Bu fled in defeat. Genial smile that Dong Zhuo had to send Li Jue to Sun Jian for peace. Sun Jian ignored it and continued to attack Otani, which is only nine miles away from Luoyang. Dong Zhuo was forced to lead an army to battle, defeated by Sun Jian, and retreated to Mianchi. Sun Jian went after Lu Bu, and after defeating Lu Bu, he sent troops to Hanguguan and took Xin 'an and Mianchi directly.
At this point, heroes from all walks of life in Shandong also rose up in succession, and * * * opposed Dong Zhuo. Dong Zhuo, who was cornered by many rebels, decided to move to Chang 'an in order to avoid sharp edges. When meeting with officials, Dong Zhuo raised this matter, and Stuart Yang Biao was worried about people's livelihood and resolutely opposed it. Qiu Huang Wan also seconded Yang Biao, and Dong Zhuo was very angry. After mediation, Dong Zhuo finally decided to move the capital. However, Dong Zhuo's conquests did not relax at all because he moved the capital to Chang 'an, but became more turbulent. At this time, Dong Zhuo became the target of public criticism.
Wu Fu, a captain of Qi Yue, hated Dong Zhuo's perverse behavior and vowed to kill Dong Zhuo himself. One day, Wu Fu came to visit Dong Zhuo with a sword hidden in his body. After the conversation, Wu Fu took leave. Dong Zhuo got up and went out to see him off, patting Wu Fu on the back with his hand, showing a very cordial appearance. Seeing the opportunity, Wu Fu suddenly drew his sword and stabbed Dong Zhuo. Anxious to kill someone, he pushed too hard and missed the point. Dong Zhuo got a fright, hurriedly fought back and called the guards to save him, which was out of danger. In the process of fighting with the guards, Wu Fu was stabbed to death by a disorderly knife because he was outnumbered. Afterwards, Dong Zhuo cursed Wu Fu for his ulterior motives and his lack of benevolence and righteousness.
At that time, in order to express their hatred for Dong Zhuo, people all over the world sang the ballad "Thousand Miles" everywhere, hoping that he would die at an early date.
In April of A.D. 192 (the third year of Chuping), Stuart Wang Yun, Shang Shu's servant NaHo and Dong Zhuo's confidant Lu Bu plotted to kill Dong Zhuo. Prior to this, Wang Yun discussed with a captain, Huang Wan, an official of Shangshu Province, Zheng, and a scholar in charge about killing Dong Zhuo.
Wang Yun, Shi and Yang Zan once again secretly discussed the abolition of Dong Zhuo on the stage in the name of worshipping God. Shi said: "Since the end of last year, the sun has not come out, and it has rained for more than 60 days. We should let this period, which is unfavorable to the country and the people, end as soon as possible. Now, the time is good, and you can take the initiative to take measures to eliminate the culprit when the world is boiling! " Stone is intended to remind Wang Yun that he can get rid of Dong Zhuo at the right time. Wang Yun agrees with Shi, but considering Dong Zhuo's high alert at ordinary times and his powerful force, if careful measures are not taken, I'm afraid things will not be simple. So, Wang Yun found Dong Zhuo's confidant Lu Bu as an insider.
Lyu3 bu4 is young and brave, with superior force. At first, Dong Zhuo deeply loved and trusted him, adopted him as his adopted son, and promoted him as the riding captain. Later, Dong Zhuo made Lu Bu a corps commander and made him the capital of Hou Ting. Dong Zhuo regards Lu Bu as a personal bodyguard. Wherever Dong Zhuo goes, Lyu3 bu4 is always inseparable and is responsible for protecting Dong Zhuo's life.
On one occasion, Lu Bu accidentally offended Dong Zhuo, who was so angry that he took out his sword and halberd and threw it at Lu Bu. Fortunately, Lyu3 bu4 wit, only survived. At that time, Lu Bu did not directly refute Dong Zhuo, but immediately apologized to him. Dong Zhuo stopped pursuing it and never took it to heart again. But since then, Lyu3 bu4 had a personal vendetta, and Lyu3 bu4 had an affair with Dong Zhuo's handmaid, which made him very uneasy. Wang Yun told Lu Bu about the plan to kill Dong Zhuo and asked him to be the inside man. At first, Lu Bu disagreed. He said, "Why (he and I) are like father and son!" Wang Yun enlightened: "Your surname is Lu and his surname is Dong, but they are not related by blood. Besides, Dong Zhuo is now a traitor punished by everyone. Do you still recognize him as a father? Did he treat you like a son when he threw a dagger at you? " Urged by Wang Yun, Lu Bu finally agreed.
Everything was ready, just as the emperor was recovering from a serious illness, the ministers of civil and military affairs of the DPRK gathered in Weiyang Hall to congratulate the emperor on his recovery. Lyu3 bu4 took this opportunity to arrange in advance a dozen Qin Bing led by Su Li, a captain riding in the same county, and put on guard costumes to hide on both sides of the palace side door. Dong Zhuogang arrived at a side door when he was raided by Su Li and others. Dong Zhuo was frightened to disgrace and quickly asked Lu Bu for help. Sitting in danger, Lu Bu said loudly, "We are writing letters to kill rebels and thieves. You deserve to die!" In desperation, Dong Zhuo struggled to resist, but to no avail, he was killed on the spot, killing three families in succession.
After Dong Zhuo was killed, Manchu civil servants and all the soldiers shouted long live! Chang 'an people are beaming, singing and dancing in the streets, and celebrating the punishment of the national thief. It is said that Dong Zhuo was violently killed in Dongcheng after his death. The corpse keeper inserted the lighted twist into Dong Zhuo's navel and lit the sky lantern. Because of Dong Zhuo's hypertrophy, "light reaches Shu, so it accumulates." After Dong Zhuo's death, the remnants of Liangzhou Army were led by Li Jue, Guo Si and others. A month later, Chang 'an was attacked by Liangzhou Army.
