Wuxi Silk Industry Museum, located in Dagong Bridge on the ancient canal, is a key cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province. The museum was planned and designed by Tsinghua University and built on the basis of the former site of Yongtai Silk Factory. It covers an area of about 25 mu with a building area of about 5,700 square meters. It consists of five western-style buildings in the Republic of China.

Yongtai Silk Factory was founded by Xue Nanming and Zhou Shunqing in 1896 and moved from Shanghai in 1926. "Jin Lu" famous brand raw silk won the gold medal at the new york World Expo and sold well in many European and American countries.
Wuxi has been the hometown of silk since ancient times.
