Wannian County was first located in Ming Di in the Northern Zhou Dynasty (558). After Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty built Daxing City in Longshou Hospital (renamed Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty), the original urban area of Wannian County was merged by Daxing City, but it was still located in Daxing City, so it became Guo Fu County.

Tang set Chang 'an County, removed Daxing County, set Wannian County, changed Daxing City into Chang 'an City, and made Chang 'an its capital. Chang 'an County and Daxing County belong to Beijing and Zhao Yin. In the second year of Wude (6 19), it was divided into Wannian County and Zhiyang County.
The five dynasties all set Chang 'an County and Wannian County, belonging to Jingzhao House. In the first year of Kaiping in Hou Liang (907), Chang 'an County, Daan County, Wannian County and Danian County all belonged to Daan Prefecture. In the first year of Tongguang in the later Tang Dynasty (923), Daan County was removed, Chang 'an County was set, Danian County was removed, and Wannian County was set.
1949 After liberation, Chang 'an County belonged to xianyang District in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region before 1953, then to the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, and after 1958+02 to the Xi Municipal People's Government.
