Hepingli Street and Zhazipo Street were founded in 1955, 1958 was merged into Hepingli Street, 1960 was changed to commune, and 1990 was changed to its current name. 1996, covering an area of 6.4 square kilometers, has a permanent population of 1 10000 and a floating population of 20,000, and governs Minwangdong, Minwangxi, Minwangnan, Minwangbei, Berlin, Dongsi District, Xisi District, Wuqu and Liuqu and the dormitory of the Ministry of Communications.

Ditan park, located in the area under its jurisdiction, was founded in the 9th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1530), which is the most complete memorial altar in China. Ditan, also known as Fang Zetan, is the second largest altar among the five altars in the ancient capital Beijing. Founded in the 9th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1530), it is located on the east side outside Andingmen, corresponding to the Temple of Heaven, facing the Yonghe Palace, Confucius Temple and imperial academy across the river.
Ditan is a solemn, simple and elegant royal altar temple, where emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to the gods in the land of emperors, and it is also the largest existing altar in China. The altar has a total area of 37.4 hectares and is square. The whole building is simple, dignified and unique.
From the whole to the part, it is designed according to the traditional and symbolic legends of ancient China, such as "the sky is round and the place is round", "the sky is blue and the land is far north", "the dragon and the phoenix" and "Gankun". There are ancient buildings on the Ditan, such as the Fangzetan, the Forbidden City, the sacrificial pavilion, the Zhai Palace and the Shenku.
