Where can I find the expert review opinions of projects not funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China?

Will be notified by email. The applicant must ensure that the provided e-mail address is smooth and effective, so as to receive relevant information in time, otherwise, the relevant legal responsibilities arising therefrom shall be borne by the applicant.

If the applicant disagrees with the decision not to grant funding and has clear reasons, he may apply to the Natural Science Foundation of China for a review of the project not to be funded. Please refer to the attachment for details. Matters needing attention in the evaluation of general projects, youth science fund projects and regional science fund projects in the medical field will be notified separately.

Legal basis: Article 17 of the Regulations of the National Natural Science Foundation stipulates that the fund management institution shall decide the research projects to be funded according to the regulations and the evaluation opinions put forward by experts. The fund management institution shall not deny the evaluation opinions of experts on the grounds that they are different from the academic opinions of the evaluation experts.

If the fund management institution decides to grant funding, it shall promptly notify the applicant and the supporting unit in writing, and announce the basic information of the applicant, the name of the supporting unit, the name of the project to be funded and the amount to be funded. If it decides not to grant funding, it shall promptly notify the applicant and the supporting unit in writing and explain the reasons. The fund management institution shall sort out the expert review opinions and provide them to the applicant.

All science departments of NSFC are responsible for accepting applications for reexamination. Please note that an application for review under any of the circumstances listed in Article 8 of the Measures will not be accepted:

(1) Non-project applicants apply for review;

(two) the time for submitting the application for review exceeds the prescribed time limit;

(3) The contents or procedures of the application for review are incomplete;

(four) there are different opinions on the academic judgment of the evaluation experts.

The Ministry of Science shall notify the applicant for reexamination of the decision and reasons for not accepting the application for reexamination. Relying on the scientific research management department of the unit can query the submission and processing results of the applicant's review application at any time through the information system.

Projects accepted during the non-centralized acceptance period will not be funded, and the evaluation work will be carried out with reference to the above procedures.
