Shangcheng Youth Activity Center was formerly known as "Youth Home". When 1958 was founded, it opened entertainment activities and entertainment projects such as reading, table tennis and kangle ball. Later, it was moved, and 1970 was renamed the mall Children's Palace. In 2004, in order to further strengthen the ideological and moral construction of minors, the newly expanded mall Children's Palace was renamed as "Mall Youth Activity Center". The design concept of selective learning space, equal communication space, open service space, exclusive sports space, multi-level education space and diversified activity space makes it easy to transform. In the first phase of the center, a 243-square-meter reading hall and a 200-square-meter volunteer service hall were newly built. The second phase of the project focuses on the reconstruction of outdoor activities and indoor functional areas, which is scheduled to be completed in June 2006. The completed Shangcheng Youth Activity Center will become the main position for students' extracurricular activities in southeast Hangzhou, and it will be a paradise for teenagers' intelligence, communication, display, fitness and leisure.
In the best section along the road on the first floor of the Shangcheng Youth Activity Center, a reading room was specially opened for children. This hall with a total area of 243 square meters can store more than 30 thousand books. Among them, the children's reading area is comfortable and can be used for various parent-child reading; Dawan reading section covers more than 100 categories such as military, life, leisure, entertainment and astronomy, which can meet the basic needs of primary and secondary school students in daily reading. More than 50 latest magazines are displayed in the magazine reading area, which meets the reading tastes of students and parents at all stages.
"Shangcheng District Youth Library" will launch a series of activities such as reading club, flea market and community exchange, so that young readers can plan, organize and participate independently, and experience and grow in practice!
