The trade union office on the 4th floor of the trade union building is open from 8: 30am to 5: 00pm from Monday to Friday. Services include providing information about the alliance, university maps, bus and ferry timetables, handbooks and general information leaflets. Trade union organizers help students deal with matters related to study, exams, research, women's issues, accommodation, part-time jobs and emergency loans.

UniSafe
The university has developed its UniSafe plan as a personal safety initiative to raise awareness and maximize personal safety on campus. The program is now licensed to other universities in Australia. In UQ, it includes safe buses, escort services and emergency call point networks in Saint Lucia, Ipswich and Garton campuses.
University security plan
The University of Queensland has made a campus safety plan for personal safety, aiming at raising safety awareness and ensuring campus personal safety to the maximum extent. This reform plan has been approved by other universities in Australia.
