Beiyang Grand Theater, founded in 1905, is the earliest theater performance place in Jinan, formerly known as "Xinghua Tea Garden". 1923 was rebuilt, and it was named "Shangle Stage" and "Chrysanthemum Theater" successively. 1934 was named "Beiyang Grand Theater"; 195 1 changed to "experimental theater"; 1954 was rebuilt and changed to "People's Theater"; 1992, Beiyang Grand Theatre was restored. Since 1930s and 1940s, famous performing artists have included Cheng, Shang Xiaoyun, Xun Huisheng, Ma, Xi Xiaobo, Qiu Rong Sheng, Ye Shenglan, Yang Baosen, Zhang Junqiu, Yuan Shihai, Fang Rongxiang, Xiao Baiyu Shuang, Xin Fengxia, Chang Xiangyu, Niu Decao, Wang Wenjuan and Xu Yulan. The theater enjoys a high reputation among pear orchards and fans at home and abroad. In order to give full play to the brand role of Beiyang Grand Theatre in domestic and foreign drama performance venues, the Municipal Bureau of Culture listed it as one of the key projects for the development of cultural undertakings, and successively invested 6.5438+0.3 million yuan to carry out all-round transformation of the theater. In addition to maintaining the original national style in appearance, the theater has also carried out key transformation, renovation and decoration of its internal facilities. The original stage was deepened and heightened, the lighting equipment was completely updated and improved, and mechanical equipment was installed around the stage, which greatly improved the work efficiency and performance conditions. Newly built and rebuilt dressing rooms, dressing rooms and lounges provide more convenient and comfortable performance and rest environment for actors.
In the venue, 438 purple spacious new "space chairs" provide a warm and comfortable viewing environment for the audience; Novel and unique floor lamp makes it safer and more convenient for the audience to get in and out; The elegant lounge provides a fresh and leisurely rest environment for the audience, especially the portraits of 24 famous Peking Opera actresses hanging in the lounge, which reflects the cultural taste of the theater. In order to better serve the troupe and audience, the theater installed electronic screens on the platform and ticket gate, which is unprecedented in the whole city and even the whole province.
Beiyang Grand Theatre enjoys a superior geographical position, with Jinan Railway Station in the north and Daguanyuan Shopping Mall in the most prosperous commercial port area in Jinan in the south, just across the road from the municipal government.
