Li Xinbai's shining old age

After Li Xinbai entered his later years, he was still full of courage and his life kept shining. 1930 ended, and Li Xinbai returned to his hometown in Wuwei. While serving his mother, he cooperated with his best friend Wang Hetian, founded the Staff Sergeant's Club in Wuwei, trained many outstanding talents for his hometown, and donated money to run a Fangxiang Primary School in the rural area of Hulong, his birthplace, presided over by his wife Liu Bingyi. 1932, after Li's mother died, he was recommended by the director of Anhui Education Department and a former Peking University student to give a lecture on high school Chinese in Xuancheng Middle School. He is full of knowledge and skills, and he teaches well, and his students like him very much. From 65438 to 0935, he was the principal of Huizhou Middle School, teaching Chinese. He devoted himself to teaching and school construction with outstanding achievements and was loved by all teachers and students.

After the July 7th Incident, the Japanese army invaded China in an all-round way, and the war spread rapidly in Shanghai and Nanjing. Li Xinbai was appointed to a key position in August. Wu Tianzhi was appointed as the director of Anhui Library. At the beginning of 1938, the Japanese army began to attack Anqing along Jiangxi. Various departments of the Kuomintang provincial government abandoned their subordinate units and hastily evacuated to Xishan District, Anhui Province. After hearing the news, Li Xinbai immediately convened an emergency meeting of the staff of the whole library to discuss contingency measures, mobilize everyone to go to the national disaster and do their best to protect state property. At that time, there were nearly 654.38+10,000 books in the province, especially 765.438+08 Chu wares unearthed in Shouxian County in 1933, which were especially precious. At the meeting, Li Xinbai made a decisive decision: dig a pit and bury it in the open space behind the library, and ask the Central Museum for help. Li Xinbai first sent librarian Zhang Zhidan to transport more than 30,000 rare books and thread-bound books to Tongcheng Luo Jialing, and then sent librarian Zhao Xiaomei to transport more than 40,000 ordinary books to Lu 'an. These books are packed in more than 200 large wooden boxes and employ more than 400 migrant workers. They were carried on the road in two batches and went through hardships. After receiving the electricity, the Central Museum quickly allocated special funds and sent special personnel to transport Chu artifacts safely back to Chongqing with the assistance of Li Xinbai. After the books and cultural relics in the provincial library were transferred, Anqing became Chengwei. Li Xinbai hurriedly packed his bags and crossed the river to return to his hometown in Guichi.

After settling down for a period of time, Li Jian set up a school library to help children in more than a dozen villages get rid of ignorance for free. The following year, with the support of friends, three huts were built in the mountains, and Nanzhuang College was opened to recruit young people outside the school and enter the hospital free of charge. During his refuge, although he had no financial resources and lived in poverty, his dedication to education remained undiminished when he was worried about the country and the people.

1942 In the spring, Huang Shaogeng, director of the Southern Anhui Administrative Office of the Kuomintang, founded the Right Ren Zhongxue in Shexian in memory of Yu Youren, president of Shanghai University. Huang Shaogeng personally came to persuade him to drive, and Li became the president of Right. 1943, in order to devote himself to teaching, he resolutely resigned from the post of President You Ren Zhongxue and went to Kong Lin Provincial Advanced Agricultural School in Jixi to teach Chinese. 1944, Anhui University South Anhui Branch was born in Wan 'an Town, Xiuning, and he was hired as a professor of the school.

1In August, 945, Li Xinbai suddenly received an invitation from President Mao Zedong in Chongqing, inviting him to Chongqing. He was very excited, but because of his age, long journey and traffic jam, he couldn't make it, so he had to write back to express his deep gratitude.

1946 In July, Southern Anhui Branch was merged into Wuhu College, Anhui Province, and Li Xinbai took over as a professor and concurrently served as the principal of Jianguo Middle School. At the same time, Zhaoming Chinese College was established in Guichi to enroll students. Xu Shiying is the chairman of the school, Chen Yansheng is the principal and Li Xinbai is the vice-principal. 1In the autumn of 947, Li Xinbai resigned as Professor Anyuan and President Jianzhong and presided over Zhaoming School for about one year. Later, because a few people in the school formed gangs, it seriously affected teaching. As the founder, he felt very sad and resigned angrily.
