Entrust others to collect documents: citizens must go to the household registration window to check their documents. Unable to participate, the adult immediate family members of the same family will take the resident ID card, residence booklet, power of attorney and ID card of the representative to the police station to collect it. Citizens shall go to the household registration window of the nearest police station in the province with their certificates within 1 month after receiving them.
Legal basis: Article 2 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Resident Identity Cards, China citizens who have reached the age of 16 and live in People's Republic of China (PRC) shall apply for resident identity cards in accordance with the provisions of this Law; China citizens under the age of 16 may apply for resident identity cards in accordance with the provisions of this Law.
