In the population area at the main entrance of the park, there stands the tall Hainan Liberation Monument. The monument was built in April 1954 to commemorate the martyrs who died for their long-term adherence to the revolutionary struggle in Qiongdao and their heroic crossing the sea. The stele courtyard is square, surrounded by stone fences and four steps, covering an area of 400 square meters. The monument is 14.5 meters high, with eight characters on the front: "Revolutionary martyrs are immortal". There is a copper plate embedded in the stone tablet below, which is inscribed with Comrade Zhu De's personal inscription: "Comrades who persisted in the revolutionary struggle in Qiongdao for a long time and died bravely crossing the sea! You are the best sons and daughters of the Chinese nation, and your's heroic actions have played an indelible role in liberating Qiongdao and China. The merits of martyrs are immortal! "

The total investment of "One Park, Two Lakes" music fountain and water treatment project reached16 million yuan. In addition to the large-scale water treatment project, it also includes the large-scale musical fountain waterscape project of East and West Lake. "One Park and Two Lakes" is the collective name of Haikou People's Park, East Lake and West Lake. The whole fountain project uses LED light source for energy-saving lighting, equipped with two 360-degree omni-directional rotating colorful spotlights. The theme music of the fountain is "Please come to the ends of the earth", "Danzhou tune" and other unique music tracks. When the calm water surface of East Lake rises and falls with the melody of music, more than 870 computer-controlled underwater nozzles spray silver water columns from different directions and angles, changing into various forms of waterscape fountains, which are colorful and dazzling.
