A q true story movie review

The True Story of Ah Q is a tragicomedy. Through Yan Shunkai's comic treatment, people see the ugly essence of Ah Q, which is cowardice, conceit, investment, ignorance and numbness.

In order to respect the language style of the original work, the director of The True Story of Ah Q added Lu Xun's long monologue in the preface, and appropriately inserted voice-over and narration in the development of the plot. In the preface, the scene of Lu Xun writing late at night in Beijing's former residence is really ingenious, and Lu Xun's performance as an actor is not overdone, simple and natural.

The use of narration in the film not only shows the original language style, but also helps to render the artistic conception and atmosphere. The disadvantage is that the narration interval in the first half is a bit dense and easy for the audience to play.

The success of this film lies in faithfully conveying the essence of the work, and making reasonable additions and deletions according to the general context of the original work to meet the needs of the film, rather than using animation to explain the original work.

Director Cenfan grasped the essence of the original work well. He understood the meaning of "spiritual victory law", and also deeply excavated Lu Xun's national inferiority in the book. The spiritual outlook of the original work was completely put on the screen by Cenfan.
