With the approval of the municipal government, Sanya Center for Disease Control and Prevention was established. In June 2005, according to the spirit of the relevant documents of the Municipal Editorial Committee, it was formed by integrating the health resources of four units: the former Municipal Health and Epidemic Prevention Station, the Municipal Institute for Disease Control and Prevention, the Municipal Institute for Skin Prevention and Treatment, and the Municipal Health Education Institute. It is the only public welfare deputy-level institution in Sanya that integrates disease prevention and control, health monitoring, inspection and evaluation, scientific research training and technical guidance, health education and promotion, public health emergencies and disaster relief and disease prevention.
