Founded in August of 1920, based on French local credit cooperative companies and regional treasury. Formerly known as "National Agricultural Credit Administration", 1926 was renamed as "National Agricultural Credit Treasury" and now it is called 1947. Headquartered in the capital Paris. 1986 has 12030 branches. The total assets of 1993 are US$ 299.204 billion, ranking 1 among French banks and seventh among 1000 big banks in the world. On July 2018 19, the Fortune Global 500 list was released, and the French Agricultural Credit Bank ranked 82nd.

The French Agricultural Credit Bank is a mutual aid company, which is not only a unified group of finance, commerce and law, but also a cooperative group with a three-tier organizational structure. CNCA is the central banking institution of Agricultural Credit Bank and the core of group management and supervision. Its main shareholders are 48 regional banks. 2,672 branches of regional banks (all over France) are also major shareholders of regional banks. The relationship between the regional banks and the group is conducted through the FNCA coordination agency.
