By using the methods of literature review, interview and questionnaire, this paper investigates the public sports service in nine towns in southern China. The results show that public sports venues and facilities can no longer meet the multi-level and diversified fitness needs of residents; Residents' satisfaction with information consulting service is high, sports organizations are insufficient, and the effect of action sports organization is poor, especially the work of social sports instructors is not satisfactory. It is suggested that Jiangsu should appropriately improve the construction standard, scale, grade and service function of sports venues and facilities according to the specific conditions, so as to transform sports facilities from general type to professional type; Strengthen the system construction of public sports service system, gradually increase the diversified supply of public sports services, strengthen the professional construction of sports organizations, gradually improve the training mechanism of social sports instructors and improve their quality.
