The application of nonverbal behavior is one of the influential technologies in individual psychological counseling, including participatory technology and influential technology. Influential technologies include face quality, explanation, guidance, emotional expression, content expression, self-opening, influential overview and the use of nonverbal behavior.
Speech expression is one of the basic conditions for counselors to exchange information, communicate feelings and establish relationships, and it is also one of the main tools for counselors to help those who ask for help, so speech acts occupy a major position in consultation. However, there will be a lot of nonverbal behaviors in the consultation process, which either appear together with the speech content, supplement and modify the speech content, or appear independently, representing the independent meaning, and play a very important role in the consultation activities.
The role of nonverbal behavior:
(1), strengthen the speech. The appearance of sounds, gestures and facial expressions, together with words, can make the meaning of words richer and the emotional color more vivid.
(2) cooperate with words. For example, if the speaker wants to continue talking, he will stop his hand in the air.
(3), to achieve feedback. Listeners make persistent responses to the speaker, such as expressing agreement, understanding, surprise and dissatisfaction with their mouths and eyebrows.
(4) convey emotions. Communicators often express their love, understanding, respect and trust in nonverbal forms, and nonverbal cues such as facial expressions and tone have greater influence than verbal signals.
