introduce
It coincides with the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland. This Macao International Music Festival will invite internationally renowned outstanding musicians to perform in Australia.
Famous orchestras such as Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Macau Chinese Orchestra, Grammy winner Billy Childs, Bulgarian violinist Rousseff and other musicians and bands will participate in the performance. During the festival, indoor and outdoor concerts will be held separately, and there will be many extended activities, including "master classes", lectures and special school meetings.
Mu Xinxin, director of the Cultural Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, said at the press conference that the outdoor concert of this year's music festival will be broadcast in EU member States, so that international music lovers can focus on Macao and further realize the goal of "letting the world see Macao". Mu Xinxin introduced that while paying attention to classical music, this music festival also invited a band from Portugal to Australia for "four and a half minutes", which skillfully blended classical and pop music.
It is reported that music from the mainland and Macao accounts for about 50% of the festival. In addition to inviting young violinist Sophia and Macao Chinese Orchestra to participate, there is also the intangible cultural heritage "Jiangnan Sizhu" brought by Shanghai Folk Music Research Association.
Expand music festival activities
In order to enhance the public's interest and participation in music, a number of different types of promotional activities will be held during the festival. There are "master class", "artist talk", "DIY workshop for parents and children's musical instruments and fingers" and special lectures.
Online and telephone registration will be accepted from 9:00 am on August 5 (Monday). Most activities are free and the number of places is limited. People can register online through the "Event Registration System" (www.icm.gov.mo/eform/event) on the website of the Cultural Bureau.
