The Lincoln Memorial Hall is managed by the NationalParkService and is open to the public free of charge all the year round.
Lincoln Memorial Hall 19 14 broke ground and was completed in 1922. The memorial hall has a solemn atmosphere, and many tourists and students come here by bus every day. The late President Lincoln is one of the most respected American presidents, and the people will never forget his contribution to the United States-liberating slaves and safeguarding American unity. It was he who saw the ugliness of slavery from the bottom of society and debunked the false veil that "all men are created equal". Although he was brutally assassinated, his spirit will live forever in the Lincoln Memorial.
There is a marble statue of Lincoln in the center of the memorial hall, with hands on both sides of the armrest of the chair, looking solemn. Above the statue, there is an inscription-"Lincoln will live forever in the hearts of the people." Lincoln Memorial Hall is not only a memorial to the late President, but also to the people of the whole country. One of the most immortal statues in America is preserved here. Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and his second inaugural address are also carved on marble walls. The 36 columns in the museum represent the 36 states divided by the United States when President Lincoln died. Go up the steps of the memorial and bypass the back of Lincoln statue. What you can see is the spectacular scenery of the US Capitol and the Washington Monument. In the pool, the reflection of the Washington Monument is still faintly visible.

Lincoln Memorial Building Structure:
The whole building of Lincoln Memorial Hall is rectangular, about 58 meters long, and it is a classical building. Thirty-six white marble columns surround the memorial hall, symbolizing the 36 States owned by Lincoln when he was president. The names of these States are engraved on the lintel of each colonnade. The reflection pool in front of the memorial hall. After nightfall, the Washington Monument adjacent to the Memorial Hall and the US Capitol is brightly lit and reflected in the water, becoming a famous scenic spot in Washington.
The rectangular Lincoln Memorial Hall stands in the middle of a relatively independent lawn with a diameter of about 400 meters. Above the surface is a granite cornerstone nearly 5 meters high. The memorial hall built on the stone platform is about 18.3 meters high, and with the cornerstone, the memorial hall is more than 23 meters high. The memorial colonnade is about 36 meters wide from east to west and 57 meters long from north to south. This is a rectangular building. Outside the east gate of the memorial hall, the broad stone steps step by step, attracting countless tourists into the sacred memorial hall. There are 36 stone pillars around the corridor of Lincoln Memorial Hall, with a height of13.4m and a bottom diameter of 2.26m. The tall and heavy pillars on the balcony resemble the Parthenon in Greece, symbolizing the 36 states of the United States when Lincoln was alive. There are 48 pendulous flowers on the chest wall at the top of the memorial hall, representing 48 States in the United States when the memorial hall was built. The guardrail at the top of the colonnade is engraved with the names of 48 States.
Walking into the memorial hall, a solemn white statue of Lincoln was created by DanielChesterFrench, a famous American sculptor at that time. This sitting statue is very realistic. Lincoln looked through the gate at the Washington Monument opposite the reflection pool and the Capitol at the end of the lawn. The meaning here is endless enough for people to chew. This statue is very big. If converted into a statue according to this ratio, the height of the statue will reach 28 feet (about 8.53 meters). The statue is carved and spliced by 28 stones, which looks seamless. This is based on the lofting provided by the sculptor. It took two brothers more than four years and was carved by the stone sculptor Piccirilli. The whole statue is estimated at $88,400. On the wall behind Lincoln's white marble statue, four lines are engraved: In this temple, as in the hearts of the people he saved, the Federated States of abraham lincoln will be remembered forever. Two famous speeches by Lincoln are engraved on the stone walls on the north and south sides of the exhibition hall. On the south wall is the full text of Gettysburg's speech. On the north wall of the memorial hall is1Lincoln's second inaugural address in 865. The full text is slightly longer. The second inaugural speech was magnificent and full of emotion.

Lincoln Memorial Background:
Two years after Lincoln's death, 1867, the northern states proposed to build a memorial building for Lincoln. But where is this building located? How big is it? What style? These problems have not been solved. So the Lincoln Memorial was shelved. After the 20th century, the call for building the Lincoln Memorial Hall rose again. 19 1 1 year, the Lincoln Memorial Committee chaired by former President Taft was established. The Committee accepted the suggestion of a college student named Henry Bacon to build a memorial hall in Washington, D.C., far from the Capitol, and Bakken himself was chosen as the designer of the memorial hall. The total budget of the memorial hall is $2.94 million. People put forward various design schemes, and some people once imagined that the memorial hall would be built like other towering monuments in Egyptian pyramid style. But the young designer Buchan firmly believes that his design is reasonable, and the Committee firmly supports him. 1911On February 9th, the US Congress approved this design scheme. 19 14, the memorial hall was officially started. Because of the soft geology of the river beach, more materials and time are spent on the foundation project of the memorial hall. 1922, Lincoln Memorial Hall completed. Under the steps of the memorial hall, it extends to the Washington Monument, and a reflection pool with a length of about 6 10 meter is built. In this way, looking eastward in front of the Lincoln Memorial, the reflection pool just reflects the long body of the Washington Monument, which is even more indomitable. Looking west from under the Washington Monument, you can also find the white Lincoln Memorial Hall reflected in the water, which is more pure, clear and sacred. On weekdays, the reflection pool is a place where wild ducks and seagulls gather. People and seagulls play with each other and are full of peace.
