1. Report the loss
In fact, no matter what important things are lost, the first thing to do is to report the loss. The same is true of bank cards, ID cards and passports. If you are sure that your ID card or passport is lost, you should report it to the local police station as soon as possible. Usually you can get the relevant certificates on the same day. Tips: Generally, the passport loss certificate issued by the local police is one of the necessary materials for applying for a travel permit.
Reissue a passport
Because I lost my passport to study in the Netherlands, I have to reissue it. It is not recommended to apply for a new passport in the Netherlands, but if it is necessary to apply for a new passport, the issuing time will be 15 working days from the date of accepting the application, and the waiting time will be longer. For international students or overseas Chinese, they can go back to the embassy of the country where they live and reissue their passports. Materials to be carried: original alarm record, a 2-inch photo, passport replacement application form (downloadable from the website of the General Embassy), copy of the ID card of the host country, and copy of the original passport (if any). Note that the general embassy needs to make an online appointment in advance!
In addition to studying in the Netherlands, tourists can also go back to the entry-exit permit center where their household registration is located, provide the certificate of the local police station and the relevant certificate provided by the travel agency when their documents are lost, or publish a notice of loss in a designated newspaper according to the regulations of relevant departments, and choose one of the three materials.
Among them, the police station certificate is undoubtedly the simplest method. Materials to be carried: travel permit and its photocopy (photo page, entry stamp page), household registration book and its photocopy, ID card and its photocopy, original and photocopy of foreign alarm records, translation by a translation company recognized by the entry-exit administration department, and 2-inch photos.
Passport replacement: it is applicable to the case that the applicant's passport is lost, damaged or stolen. Need additional information:
1. Written report on loss, damage and theft of passport. The contents include: personal information, Dutch travel experience, passport loss, damage, theft, issuing authority, issuing time, passport number and validity period, home address and contact information, etc.
2. If the passport is lost or stolen, the police report record must also be provided.
Processing time and cost
Ordinary passport application fee: 25 euros. If there is no courier service, it usually takes 20 working days to authenticate.
Study in the United States
Step 1: After confirming the loss of your passport, report it to the nearest police station as soon as possible.
The steps of reporting the loss are generally reporting the case, going out to call the police, asking, taking notes, witness notes, colleague notes, signature of the administrative leader of the police station and official seal of the police station.
Prepare your student card /I-20 form or American local driver's license before reporting the loss, and you need to show it to the police uncle. Then the police uncle will ask you and your colleagues about the process of losing your passport and record a series of information such as passport number. 1) Fill in the Application Form for Passport of the People's Republic of China truthfully and completely.
2) Two recent 2-inch (48mm X 33mm) color photos, with a head width of 2 1 mm ~ 24 mm and a length of 28 mm ~ 33 mm, with a white or light blue background;
3) Copy of lost or stolen passport, including one page with photo information, one page with delayed completion and one page with visa to the United States;
4) Original and photocopy of residence certificate in the United States (such as American "green card", work permit, I-20 form, etc. );
5) A written statement that the passport has been lost or stolen. The contents include: the experience before and after traveling to the United States, the location and process of passport loss or theft, passport number, issuing time, issuing place, my address and contact number, etc.
6) Alarm record.

Because the reissue will involve a series of procedures such as verification and confirmation by relevant domestic institutions, the time for applying for the permit will not be too certain, but the staff of the embassy or consulate will inform the self-service later passport reissue progress. 2. Fill in the address and contact number in the "emergency information" column on the last page of the entry-exit certificate, so that once found, you can contact the owner in time.
