Why do swallows like to nest under the eaves?

No matter what kind of building, we can see a bird's nest under the eaves, that is, a swallow's nest. Because swallows like to nest in houses built by humans, people also call them "domestic swallows". In fact, swallows are not birds that like to be close to humans. Like most birds, as long as humans get close to them, they flap their wings and fly away.

Swallows don't put their children in danger. After many explorations, they finally chose to nest under the eaves. However, people will not close the door to this practice of swallows. They think that if swallows come to build nests in the house, they are expressing happiness and health. This is an advantage.

Swallows choose to build nests, not only because they can avoid the wind and rain, but also because other animals will not threaten the young birds in the nest. Therefore, the bird's nest is usually out of our reach, where humans can't reach, and it is difficult for cats, dogs, mice and other animals to climb it.

Swallow is a general term for all kinds of swallows, including Swift, Louyan and Domestic Swallow. Swifts live in crevices of cliffs, under eaves or in tree holes, while Louyan lives in houses or caves in towers, tall buildings and temples. These swallows are common in cities. Building a nest under the eaves is called house swallow, which is very common in rural houses.

Swallows have the habit of migration. Every spring, they fly to the north from the distant Philippines, India and northern Oceania. According to records, a swallow can catch more than 20000 kinds of pests in a summer. If the pests eaten by swift are connected head to tail, they can be 1000 meters long. Swallows have been good friends of mankind since ancient times. Ordinary people work at sunrise and return at sunset. In order to have a good harvest, there are often pests such as locusts to destroy crops, which also makes farmers' uncles very headache. Moreover, in ancient times without pesticides, swallows were the main force to catch pests, and a quarter of swallows could eat 250 thousand locusts, so farmers' uncles liked swallows to build nests in their own homes.
