In the era of planned economy, Wuhan Light Automobile Manufacturing General Factory was once the leader of Wuhan automobile industry.
Wuhan Light Vehicle Manufacturing General Factory is one of the 28 light vehicle manufacturers in China, mainly producing WH2 13 van, WH 120 light truck and their series products. The General Factory was formed by the merger of the former Wuhan Automobile Factory and Changjiang Automobile Restructuring Factory (Wuhan Fire Equipment Factory) when the production pattern of Wuhan automobile industry was adjusted in 1982.
Development history
As early as 1964, Wuhan Fire Equipment Factory, the predecessor of Changjiang Automobile Restructuring General Factory, began to produce CB22 portable fire engines and 2 10 Yangzi brand light vehicles. By the end of 1970, the factory had moved to the present site of Wuhan Institute of Machinery at Gutian Fifth Road 17, and accumulated more than 600 fire engines in that year. Later, they began to produce 2664.
1976, based on 21/jeep, a new product of 2 13 van was developed, which laid the foundation for the development of Wuhan light vehicle and won the third prize of scientific and technological achievements of the Ministry of Machinery in 1980. 1979 when I came to Wuhan to study, there were many such off-road vehicles on the road.
