Qingdao Railway Station, located in Tai 'an Road, Shinan District, was built at 1899. It is a century-old station that has experienced vicissitudes of life and is responsible for passenger and cargo transportation in Qingdao and surrounding areas. There are 26 pairs of trains running every day, and nearly 30,000 passengers are sent and received every day. Qingdao Railway Station was designed by Willer and Gidar of Germany and built by Shandong Railway Company. At that time, the railway station was mainly composed of two parts: the bell tower and the waiting hall. The office building on the first floor of Beilian has the architectural style of German Renaissance. The waiting hall highlights the main entrance facing the urban area with tall decorative gables and three ticket gates. A beautifully shaped pointed bell tower rises from the south corner of the building, located on the axis of Guangxi Road and Lanshan Road, and becomes the opposite landscape of Lanshan Road. The railway station has become the terminal of Ji Jiao Railway and one of the landscape buildings in Qingdao.

Qingdao Railway Station is the product of the marriage of Chinese and western architectural styles, and the architectural style is German Renaissance style. If the small and medium-sized stations on the Ji Jiao Line are the product of the marriage of Chinese and Western architectural styles, then the architecture of Qingdao Station is a work of pure German Renaissance style.
The building plane of Qingdao Railway Station is zigzag, and the main building is a two-story building, which is composed of a towering bell tower and a steep station hall. It is a lively and asymmetrical facade. On the right side of the facade, there is a low steel frame and glass ceiling platform corridor. The station waiting room is in the middle, with a small area, a ticket office and a duty room on both sides, and an office on the second floor. The 35-meter-high station bell tower follows the style of the German country church. There are three rows and two groups of thin windows at the lower part perpendicular to the ground. The building has a steep double slope, a four-slope roof and China variegated glazed tiles. The main entrance of the station consists of more than ten stone steps leading to three arched doors, and the upper part is shaped as a semi-wooden frame gable, highlighting the entrance position. There is a garden square in front of the station, which makes the building in an open space.
Tollsten Warner said in his book "German Architectural Art in China" that the railway to Jinan connects Qingdao and Shandong Province in Jiaozhou Dezhan District. 1904 was opened to traffic. As the first breakwater in Dagang was not built until 1904, the railway from Qingdao Railway Station to Zhanqiao became a necessary condition for commercial banks to develop real estate.
The original urban planning plan set up a trestle bridge at Qingdao Railway Station, but the arc track obviously needed a lot of technology at that time. As a result, the station moved westward to the straight road, forming the western end of the city.
