The major of road bridge and river crossing engineering was originally a major of civil engineering (road engineering), and started as a major of road engineering on 1956. On 20 18, it was transferred to the major of road bridge and river crossing engineering for independent enrollment, and was approved as a national characteristic major, a key major in Hunan Province and a national first-class undergraduate major. The transportation engineering discipline that this major relies on is a first-class construction discipline in China.
Changsha University of Science and Technology has a number of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, such as postdoctoral research mobile station and national engineering research center for highway maintenance technology, and has won various awards 100, including the first and second prizes for national scientific and technological progress. There are 83 professional teachers, including 28 professors and 30 associate professors, and they have academicians, national talents, national teaching masters and national excellent teachers.
The school is required to actively adapt to the needs of industry and regional economic and social development, cultivate noble quality, social responsibility, international vision, innovative spirit and environmental awareness, systematically master the basic theory, professional knowledge, basic skills and methods of this major, have practical ability to study, analyze, design and develop complex engineering problems, and be able to engage in relevant planning work in highway, civil and urban construction industries.
