1. Guizhou is located in the eastern part of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and originated in the plateau and mountainous area between Sichuan Basin and Guangxi, Xiangxi Basin or hills. In the geological evolution history of more than 654.38 billion years, it has good metallogenic geological conditions, forming an advantageous pattern of rich mineral resources, wide distribution, complete types and numerous minerals in Guizhou, and becoming one of the major mineral resources provinces in China. After long-term geological exploration and research, especially since 1950s, by 2002, 1 10 and more than 3,000 deposits and occurrences have been discovered, and 76 kinds of minerals have been discovered, including energy, black gold, nonferrous metals, precious metals, rare earth dispersed elements, nonmetallic metallurgical accessories and nonmetallic chemicals.
2. Among the proven reserves, Guizhou ranks 4 1 among the top ten minerals in China according to the unified comparison of reserves, including 28 species from the first to the fifth, 8 species from the first, 8 species from the second and 5 species from the third. In particular, coal, phosphorus, bauxite, mercury, antimony, manganese, gold, barite, pyrite, rare earth, gallium, cement raw materials, brick-making raw materials and various uses of limestone, dolomite, sandstone and other minerals have the most advantages and occupy an important position in the country. In addition, the per capita potential economic value of mineral resources and unit land area are higher than the national average, far higher than the surrounding provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.
3. With the discovery of a large number of mineral resources and the development of resource reserves in Guizhou, it has laid an important foundation for the extensive development and utilization of mineral resources. At present, more than 50 kinds of minerals have been developed, including more than 20 regular mines with a certain production scale. 1/3 of the proven reserves in the whole province have been developed. Guizhou mining industry is developed on the basis of mineral resources, and its output value accounts for more than 30% of the total industrial output value for many years. The development and utilization of superior minerals has made Guizhou one of the top ten provinces of non-ferrous metals in China, and built an important aluminum industry and phosphorus chemical base in China, an important ferromanganese alloy production base in China and the largest barium carbonate producing area in Asia. Abundant mineral resources are an indispensable material basis for implementing the strategy of developing the western region and realizing the goal of "enriching the people and prospering Guizhou".
