Subject code: 0835, a first-class subject, this major was newly added by the Ministry of Education in 2002. With the continuous expansion of computer applications and the continuous development of China's economic construction, software engineering will become a new hot specialty. Software engineering specialty is based on computer science and technology, and emphasizes the engineering nature of software development, so that students can master the basic knowledge, methods and skills necessary for software requirements analysis, software design, software testing, software maintenance and software project management on the basis of computer science and technology knowledge and skills, highlight the cultivation of students' professional knowledge and skills, and cultivate senior professionals who can engage in software development, testing, maintenance and software project management.

According to the characteristics of the college and the actual teaching needs, the college has two teaching and research sections, which are responsible for formulating teaching outlines, teaching plans and organizing activities related to teaching work. The college is also equipped with advanced teaching and experimental equipment, and there are two special computer rooms for students, which can accommodate 160 people at the same time. At the same time, the college also has five laboratories, including foundation, software engineering, network, multimedia technology and comprehensive laboratory, which are now open to graduate students and undergraduates.
