After the establishment of 189 1 Qingdao, it fell into the hands of the Germans in 1897 and was ruled by the Japanese in 19 14- 1922. At the end of the first Japanese rule in Qingdao, although the city was well-known, it only showed the "governance ability" of German and Japanese colonists, not the achievements of China people. 1922, after the may 4th movement and the unremitting efforts of China people in the following years, the China government finally recovered Qingdao from the Japanese. However, from the first day when this city, which has been ruled by foreign countries for too long, returned to China, many voices questioned whether China people could manage Qingdao well. China people have never been so eager to prove to the world. The "Eight Standards" came into being under this background. What is certain is that even if the original intention of building Badaguan Villa is not to prove to the world, even if Anbaduan cannot show all the achievements of China people since the return of Qingdao, Anbaduan is enough to prove to the world that China people can manage Qingdao well. In this sense, Badaguan is definitely a place of honor. Since the 20th century, Badaguan has won numerous awards for its special value in modern history and rich cultural heritage represented by architectural art:1994 65438+1October 4th, Qingdao was announced by the State Council as the third batch of national historical and cultural cities, in which Badaguan's unique historical and cultural position played an important role. On June 25th, 20001year, "Badaguan Modern Architecture" was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. On June 23rd, 2005, 65438+1October 23rd, Qingdao Badaguan was named as one of the five most beautiful urban areas in China in the "China's Most Beautiful Place" selection activity sponsored by chinese national geography and assisted by 34 domestic media organizations. These honors belong to both Badaguan and Qingdao.
Born for dignity
Unlike Lushan Guling Villa, which was taken away by China people before construction, the fate of Badaguan was firmly in the hands of China people from the beginning of development. According to historical records, from the end of1920s to the beginning of1940s, Badaguan gradually became the senior residence of celebrities in political, business, military and cultural circles. Wang, Minister of Military Affairs in the late Qing Dynasty, Foreign Minister of Beiyang Government, Mayor of Qingdao in the Republic of China, Wu Yun Nest, former professor of Peking University, former professor of Shandong University, national industrialist, Russian navigation expert Khomeik, and German architect Biluha all lived here. However, the land development, construction and residence right of Badaguan cannot be easily obtained, and all its real estate can only be obtained by participating in the rent competition of Qingdao Finance Bureau at that time, and construction must be started within the prescribed time limit, otherwise the government has the right to recover the real estate. Perhaps most notably, in 1930s and 1940s, Badaguan was once the residence of foreign consulates and consular staff in Qingdao, but all these consulates and consular staff had to pay full rent before they could live here.
Different from the random design of Xiamen Beidaihe Waterfront and Gulangyu Villa, the architectural design and construction of Badaguan must follow strict regulations. 1929, the national government designated Badaguan area as a "specially designated architectural site", and at the same time established Qingdao Architectural Aesthetics Committee, which was responsible for reviewing and evaluating the design schemes submitted by architects and rewarding excellent architectural designs. 1932 Detailed Rules for the Treatment of Trees in Special Areas of Qingdao emphasizes that trees shall not be cut down unless absolutely necessary. If it is really necessary to cut down, it should be reported to the building drawings and approved. In the same year, a special chapter was set up in the Provisional Rules for Building in Qingdao, which made detailed provisions on the building standards of special areas, covering the scope, building location, building area, building floors, building style, greening, fences, eaves, toilets, external decorative colors and design of this area. At the same time, it is stipulated that the building itself should maintain the perfect unity of nationalities, races and hobbies corresponding to the residents. Perhaps this is the reason why the eight-way gate we see today is so scattered and orderly.
Born for architecture
Badaguan shows a picture of cross-cultural dialogue for future generations. The foreign architects who participated in the construction of the Eight Tags came from Russia, Britain, France, Germany, the United States, Denmark, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Japan and other countries, and they brought many foreign architectural ideas and practices. But there are many masterpieces of China people in the design of Badaguan. Huashi Villa, former residence of British Consul General, Donghai Hotel, etc. All these reflect the profound attainments of China architects in integrating multi-culture and displaying modernist artistic style. /kloc-China architecture in the 1930 s was the "self-reliance" period for China architects, and Badaguan became the "testing ground" for China architects represented by,, Zhang Xinzhai,,, Wang, Su, Wang Pingfan, Huang Jiamo, Chen Ruiting and Zhao Shilin. They not only absorbed western classicism, but as later generations commented: "Qingdao architecture, This era can be said to be a harvest era in architecture in a sense. "It is these' China brands' that have made Badaguan a place that countless China people are proud of, and also witnessed the' dignity' of Qingdao and even China people. Nowadays, Badaguan has increasingly become a symbol of the city in Qingdao people's hearts. The feelings of loving hometown are also constantly expressed and released from the love and nostalgia for these buildings.
Science and culture
After the founding of New China, Badaguan became a convalescent area, where many cultural celebrities and model workers spent their holidays. In this regard, many old villas in Badaguan have successfully achieved historical transformation. From 65438 to 0958, the first national planning work conference was held in Qingdao. Taking Badaguan sanatorium as an example, there is a concrete analysis in the Report of Academic Seminar of China Architectural Society compiled by Mr. Liang Sicheng. Hundreds of scientists, writers and artists, including Li Siguang, Guo Moruo, Mao Dun, Cao Yu, Sun Li and Liu Haisu, used to recuperate, research and create here.
Film and television art
The exotic customs of Badaguan block are favored by film and television people. For a long time, it has become a rare natural film and television shooting base. In 1930s, Peach Blossom after Robbery, the groundbreaking film of China, written by Hong Shen and starring Hu Die, was filmed in Villa No.22 Huiquan Road. Ermayina, a film adapted from Lao She's works, was filmed today at Villa No.9, Taiping Jiao No.1 Road. The villa at Juyongguan Road 14 also won the nickname of "Song Family Garden" for filming the TV series Soong Ching Ling and Her Sisters. In addition, movies and TV series such as Home Economics and Honesty, Xin Wei and Cave 13 have also been filmed here. According to statistics, nearly 100 film and television works have photographed the natural scenery and the interior of the building here. Now many singers' MTV locations are also chosen here. Sally Yeh and George Lam's "Choice" and "Reunion" were both filmed at Badaguan. Guo Tao and Mei Ting's "Parents' Love" started in many places, and Eight Marks were also shot in these places. Qingdao's goal of building a "film and television city" is not unrelated to this.
Navigation and navigation base
Qingdao is one of the earliest cities in China to develop sailing. 1903, the earliest yacht (sailing) club in China was established in Badaguan. 1936, the navigation pier, watchtower, yacht warehouse and other facilities built by the club at No.5 Huiquan Road are still well preserved, which is an important historical relic of modern sailing culture in China. The first sailing school in New China is also located in Huiquan Bay, eight bays along the coast of Kansai, where many landmark sailing competitions have been held. The above monuments have become a strong support for Qingdao, the host city of the Olympic Sailing Competition of the 29th Olympic Games, to build a "sailing capital".
A sacred place of vows of eternal love
Badaguan is full of romantic feelings, and is known as the holy land of vows of eternal love, which leads to a brand-new marine folk custom phenomenon: newlyweds who step into the marriage hall usually take wedding photos here, which has almost become a necessary item for Qingdao weddings. In the past few years, the customs of Badaguan have attracted many newcomers from inland cities and even South Korea and Japan to borrow beautiful scenery. Flowers bloom all the year round, and couples dressed in costumes March happily in the sunshine and sea breeze, shining against the sea, buildings and flower streets, forming a beautiful cultural landscape. This is the latest form of Badaguan block, which also shows the latest vitality of culture and witnesses the perfect attraction of Badaguan's humanities and natural environment.
