Interpretation of Takeshi Kaneshiro's The Accuracy of Death

A brief review of the plot

Black clothes, black tie, white gloves, followed by a talking black dog, this is the standard costume of "Death" Chiba (Takeshi Kaneshiro). Unlike people's imagination, this god of death is not ferocious, nor does he carry a sickle, but a handsome guy who is not scary at all. Chiba's job is to judge. For those who are about to die unexpectedly, he will observe them for seven days before he dies, and finally decide whether to execute the death penalty or release them to prolong his life. Chiba has no affection for human beings and has never been lucky enough to be released under him. However, Chiba likes music very much and thinks it is the greatest invention of mankind. For him, it is the supreme enjoyment to walk into the CD shop and put on headphones to listen to music after finishing his work neatly.

Chiba's target this time is a 27-year-old company employee, Ichigo Fujiki (Manami Konishi). Hiroshi Fujiki is gloomy and unlovable. Many people died because of her, but she was indifferent. Chiba came to the world in disguise as usual, and it rained as usual. Seeing Yi Hui coming out of the company building with a tired look, Chiba followed. At this time, he didn't know that a gift with special talents would change his view of human beings.

When death makes different judgments, the wheel of destiny beyond time and space begins to turn.

0 1? Death chiba

First of all, talk about the protagonist Chiba, the god of death.

Death is a primitive image (prototype), and everyone has a prototype of death in his heart. You can close your eyes and think about what death looks like. Usually, you think of a person, wearing a black robe or dark gray robe, a skull face or invisible face, a corpse skeleton, a sickle and a scepter in your hand. Sickle represents the harvest of life, and scepter symbolizes the right to control life and death. Fat boys in white or colorful robes are unlikely to appear. This is human's psychological understanding of death, so we must abide by psychological laws.

Death appears as a human being, or it may be that he is neatly dressed, likes black or gray robes, Chinese tunic suits and suits, holds a briefcase in his hand, is serious, does not like jokes, and is thin. Sometimes it's scary, it looks terrible, sometimes it's serious, it's right, and it's rarely flattering. Death may have different images and names, such as: face, death, ghost, impermanence and so on.

Besides being too handsome (Takeshi Kaneshiro: blame me), Takeshi Kaneshiro's Chiba also fits the image of death. It is not an exaggeration to be called the most handsome death. The black suit he wore when he went on stage was rigorous and solemn, and he was meticulous in his work.

At the beginning of the film, there is a Gothic church in the water on the road, and the little girl's funeral is held in the church. Gothic church, as the external environment of death, represents the mystery of death and the environment of life and death. After all, the church is a place where life and death need to be experienced. The little girl represents the purity of the world, and innocent children have not won the mercy of death. This is the working attitude of death. He is a rigorous worker and never makes mistakes. This is the impression of death in our hearts.

The opening paragraph seems to have nothing to do with the following story, but it is a good foreshadowing and opening. Death is very precise and realizes the meaning of life. Should a seven-year-old innocent girl go or not?

02? Dogs around death

There is also a very important character in the film: the dog next to death. Dogs are characterized by integrity, responsibility, friendship, loyalty to their owners and cruelty to their enemies.

It is often used to symbolize morality, self-discipline, self-demand and discipline, or what psychoanalytic psychology calls superego. Starting from this feature, the image of a dog as a guardian of hell appears in many ancient myths (myths are also the product of human collective subconscious), such as:

1, Anubis In ancient Egyptian mythology, the image of Anubis is usually coyotes, wolves or wolf heads, and sometimes it is completely coyotes, wolves or wolves. In the trial of the dead, it is the protector of spiritual balance. Looking at the scale pointer is to put the feather of truth on one side of the scale and the heart of the dead on the other. If the heart is lighter than a feather, then this man can go to heaven and live forever with the gods. If the heart is heavier than a feather, this person will be sent to hell and his heart will be eaten by the devil. Anubis was originally the king of the underworld, but with the worship of Osiris, he fell from the underworld to a ghost. The ancient Egyptians believed that only the guardians of Anubis could protect their souls.

2. In Greek mythology, hades is guarded by a three-headed dog named burroughs, who is responsible for keeping the dead out and the living in.

3. There is also a group of Cerberus named Garm in Nordic mythology. They have four eyes dyed red with blood, and their temperament is very fierce. They guard the gates of hell like hellhounds.

The big black dog in the film comes from these mythical archetypes. It has the duty of guarding hell, and is in charge of life and death.

Looks docile (this is probably the setting of the tone of the warm film), and is responsible for leading Chiba to find the object of trial.

03? The heroine Fujiki Ichigo

I showed you several scenes where heroines appeared at the beginning of the film:

1, someone in the office will not refuse to make harassing calls, even if she calls home, she will not refuse severely;

2. Breaking up with Chiba after dinner, two young people wanted to do something bad to her, but she didn't show resistance;

There is never a good side to coin toss, and it is somewhat lost. But when there is a bad side, she still smiles and acts more relaxed;

4, Chiba said that there is no need to worry in the future, and she will be free soon, but the hostess is sad;

5. The telephone harasser is also obedient when pulling her. When she was near the door, she got up and ran away. In the process of escape, she entered an empty alley, and finally turned left into a dead end and fell into a dangerous situation. As you can see from the film, if you turn right, the door is open and you can continue to escape. She didn't even realize it.

It seems that Fujiki is really a "jinx" as she thinks. Always intentionally or unintentionally make your situation worse and more dangerous. Many of her performances show that she really wants her illness to continue and even have an accident.

Criminal psychology research points out that some people are really easy to attract criminals and often put themselves in the position of victims. If it is explained by the sub-personality theory in the psychology of image dialogue, it is that these victims have such a sub-personality of one or several victims, which will consciously or unconsciously echo the sub-personality part of the crime in the criminal's mind. For example, if the father in a family is a domestic abuser, the daughter will internalize a female sub-personality who has been hurt by violence. When the daughter grows up, it is easy to find someone who is prone to domestic violence or domestic violence. In some cases, women's unconscious behavior induces or even forces the other party to become a domestic abuser.

Judging from the wound on Fujiki's hand, she tried to commit suicide, and there was still a great motive for death subconsciously, so it seemed unintentional. In fact, she deliberately brought herself into a dangerous situation to achieve the subconscious purpose of death.

What did Fujiki and his party go through to make her feel like a jinx and constantly put herself in danger?

Fujiki said that her biological parents died in a plane accident when she was a child, her adoptive parents died in a fire when she was just an adult, and her fiance died in a car accident a few years ago. She loved her, and her love left one after another. The photos in the room can also come out. Her biological parents died when she was very young, which was a great psychological trauma for her. The younger a child is, the easier it is to blame himself for his parents' problems. For example, in divorced families, children will unconsciously feel bad about themselves, and disobedience will lead to parents quarreling and divorce.

I believe that after Fujiki's parents died in an air crash, she will also have a lot of remorse, thinking that she is not good and that she is a jinx. Otherwise, how could her parents leave her unexpectedly and not want themselves? In my heart, I will form a part of myself (sub-personality) and think that I am a jinx, which is deeply imprinted in my heart.

Later, the unexpected death of her adoptive parents strengthened the ominous sign in her heart and once again confirmed that she was indeed an ominous person who would bring disaster to her family. The unexpected death of her fiance convinced her that she was a jinx. In addition, there is a speculation of psychological motivation. The death of her biological parents left a mark of a jinx in her heart and gave her a motive to follow her parents. Adoptive parents and fiance may be influenced by her subconscious motive for death, and many accidents have subconscious motives.

The discerning eye of the music producer made Fujiki a singer and married and had children in the back. The opportunity of life began to change, and she gradually believed that there were sunny days in life. I started to build some letters, believing that I could have a happy life. If this life can continue, maybe she can live a nearly normal life. You are not mistaken, it is approximate.

On the psychological level, she still has too many trauma and complex to face and deal with. Life seems normal, but it doesn't mean it's normal psychologically. These psychological trauma will still affect her and her life in various ways. If there is no psychological counselor or other psychological growth leaders to help her out of the psychological haze, it is difficult for her to really live an ordinary and normal life. The sudden death of her husband made her confidence in life completely collapse and gave up. In my heart, I am more sure that I am a jinx, and everyone she loves will die tragically. In order to prevent her son from suffering possible "bad luck", she resolutely abandoned her son Ajujin and lived a lonely escape life.

Why did Fujiki and Kazuo choose to abandon their breeding this time instead of giving up their lives? After all, she once gave up, and she has every reason to give up again. Why? At the end of the movie, the sun came out, and the withered sunflower came back to life. It was born for the sun and suddenly understood.

Sunflower symbolizes health, happiness and vitality. It pursues a positive life, always keeps a positive attitude and bravely pursues the happiness it wants. Although the sunflower in front of the house has faded several times because of the rainy weather, it still stands upright and does not fall down. On behalf of Fujiki Yi Hui, although she has overcome the difficulties, her inner strength is also very strong. Worse, as long as there is a little sunshine, she can shine at once.

For example, although she experienced several deaths of relatives and was tired of the world, when her fate improved slightly, she was full of hope for life. You can see several places in the play:

1, the photo with her fiance in the sunflower bush is so beautiful and full of energy;

When the singer got married and had children, she was full of hope for the future. This happy time is enough for her to continue to live.

3. I got my son's understanding, realized my wish to see my grandson, and walked out of my house hopefully, believing that I would see a sunny day (Chiba Death still didn't believe it would be sunny).

Fujiki's positive attitude and tenacious vitality, I think this is closely related to the nourishment and love satisfaction given by her parents/adoptive parents since childhood, which gives her strong vitality to resist all kinds of trauma and wind and rain.

Ichigo Fujiki lives with a young robot maid. Why are there robots to highlight the times of movies? It's possible, but I'm not entirely sure.

The film implies that Japan will host the World Cup again, and 43 years have passed since 70-year-old Kazuo Fujiki (she was only 27 when Death first met Kazuo Fujiki). Except for robots and CD players, other home appliances are not very modern, let alone ultra-modern. I can take care of myself, and the barber shop has a lot of business, so I don't need any help at all.

Why set up robots? Because this robot represents a part of itself (sub-personality) in Fujiki's heart, isn't it heartless when her husband dies suddenly and her heart is completely dead? For her, there is love when there is heart, and tragedy will happen when there is love. Making yourself a heartless and emotionally isolated person is the best way to avoid the tragedy of loved ones around you, and it is also an effective way to avoid the death of loved ones again. Of course, it is also a way to escape the inner condemnation of abandoning adopted children. With so many joys and sorrows, it takes a lot of psychological defense to survive. So it is not difficult to understand why she chose the career of barber. Hair represents emotion. Isn't that what she has been doing to build and cut off the feelings in her heart?

As you can see in the film, this robot has been broken for several years and has never been repaired. This may mean that she seldom uses emotional isolation in her heart, and it also means that her long-term use of this defense method has hurt this part of her heart, and she doesn't want to and can't use it again.

Why did you choose to repair this robot at this time? The son forgave her and wanted to take his grandson to see her. Some parts of her heart have been healed and repaired, and repairing the robot is also the repair of this part of her heart. In addition, her son will bring his grandson to see her, and her inner conflict and pressure suddenly increase, so she needs to isolate her heart to face it and keep herself calm. Repairing the robot also symbolizes that she wants to restart the part of her function of isolating emotions. Chiba asked her if she knew which child was her grandson. It was obvious that she was denied and isolated.

When we first met, the god of death, Chiba, comforted Fujiki, saying that it would always be sunny without ceaseless rain. Obviously, he doesn't believe it himself. Just as Fujiki and Kazuo didn't believe that there would be sunny days in their lives, this may be the reason why they met. The relaxation of the accuracy of Chiba's death made Fujiki live for 43 years. Rich life experience and experience made her more and more calm. Finally, she tossed a coin, which shows that this is just a habit. Whether it is positive or negative, she readily accepts it, indicating that she is no longer bound by fatalism. She began to believe that life can't be rainy all the time, and there will be sunny days after the storm. The change of Fujiki's belief also led to the change of Chiba's belief in death, and Chiba also saw a sunny day for the first time. The rattan released from Chiba not only taught him the meaning of life, but also reversed his belief that there was no sunny day in his heart. This is the purpose of their two encounters.
