Red-billed gull is the most common seagull in Qingdao, named after its red beak. Every year1in late October, coastal areas began to appear sporadically 1 1, and then the number gradually increased, reaching a peak in March and April due to the increase of groups returning from the south to the north. Since April, a large number of red-billed gulls have gradually left Qingdao for Siberia, Mongolia and other places to thrive.

Grey-backed gulls mainly breed from kamchatka peninsula to Hokkaido. Due to the geographical barrier, few individuals can enter the eastern coast of China. The grey-backed gull in Qingdao is also rare, but it appears stably in several locations along the urban coast every year.
Mongolian silver gull is the largest and most common large seagull in Qingdao. It can be seen on the coast, rivers, reservoirs and wetlands, and it is also the first large seagull to reach Qingdao.
