What are the benefits of Suzhou sponge city?

In the Sino-Singapore Ecological Science and Technology City, sponge facilities can be seen everywhere. In the city, the original ordinary Shubullock brick was transformed into an ecological permeable brick, and a rainwater collection pool was set up to form an ecological permeable sidewalk and rainwater collection system. At present, the total area of permeable sidewalk slabs here has reached about 70,000 square meters. Zhao Ruilong, a water conservancy expert, said that the construction of sponge cities does not require a lot of investment. It is attached to other construction projects to realize this concept. For example, the green space should be built lower than our squares and sidewalks, so that the water in squares and sidewalks will go to the concave green space. The same greening project with similar investment can bring benefits to our urban drainage.

Suzhou, a water city, took the lead in completing the special plan of sponge city in the whole province last year, and proposed that more than 80% of the built-up areas in our city should be able to absorb and utilize 70% of the rainfall by 2030. In addition, Suzhou is one of the first pilot cities of underground common ditch in China. During the reconstruction of Chengbei Road, the underground pipe gallery is a pilot project. The person in charge of the project said that 10 kV to 20 kV power lines have all gone down, and the water includes water supply, reclaimed water and sewage. There are two kinds of gases, one is gas and the other is steam.

The main line of the underground pipe gallery of Chengbei Road is 13.2km long, starting from Changhu Bridge in the west and ending at Suzhan Road in the east, and the branch pipe gallery is 6km long. From the cross section, it is 5 meters high and 8 meters wide, and it can drive a car. According to the requirements of the pilot city of underground common ditch, the urban area will invest 4 billion yuan to build 33 kilometers of underground common ditch. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the city will build 1 10 km underground integrated pipe trench.
