Yin Yue Yun Hui * *117 pages. The text includes the word search index, example sentences, Guangdong rhyme table, Guangdong rhyme word search, Guangzhou standard pronunciation research and so on. There is a preface written by Rong Zhaozu at the beginning of the volume, and two appendices at the end of the volume: one is "Suggestions on New Phonetic Methods of Cantonese Roman Characters", and the other is an English introduction to Book and a description of the usage of phonetic symbols in the book (English).

Yin Yue Yun Hui takes 53 vowels of Guangzhou dialect as warp and 19 initial as weft. The book adopts "International Phonetic Alphabet (Wide Style)" as the phonetic notation system, in which the main vowels are arranged in sequence, homophony words are arranged in the initial order, and homophony words are arranged in the tone. Simple comments are added to those words with more than one word, such as "proofreading" under gau and "difference" under tsai. Tone sandhi, intonation, colloquial tone, modern reading, old reading and a few rare words are also annotated respectively.

The chapter "Research on Guangzhou Standard Tone" describes the related issues of Guangzhou Tone in detail, focusing on the situation and laws of phonetic changes, especially the complex changes and analysis of tones.

This book was written in an era when the study of Cantonese was still in its infancy. It is praised by linguists for its accurate pronunciation, accurate arguments, detailed narration and easy to understand, which has had a great influence on Cantonese studies for decades.

Starting from 1996, the Cantonese Electronic Dictionary in the Humanities Computer and Humanities Methods Research Office of the School of Humanities, Chinese University has set up an online version of Cantonese rhyme, which provides two-way query of Cantonese and Chinese characters, and adds a sound system, which is very convenient to use.
