Article 3 The contents of the resident identity card registration include: name, gender, nationality, date of birth, permanent residence, citizenship number, personal photo, fingerprint information, validity period of the certificate and issuing authority. Citizenship number is a unique and life-long identity code for every citizen, which is compiled by public security organs according to the national standard of citizenship number. Citizens applying for obtaining, renewing or replacing resident identity cards shall register their fingerprint information.
Article 11 If the state decides to issue a new generation of resident identity cards, the validity period of the resident identity cards expires, the citizen's name changes or the documents are seriously damaged and unrecognizable, and the citizens should apply for a new one, the public security organ shall promptly correct the mistakes in the registration of the citizen's identity cards, and must return the original one when issuing a new one. If a resident identity card is lost, it shall apply for a replacement.
